The Hamburg temple model is an architectural model of the Temple of Solomon in the Baroque style currently located at the Hamburg Museum. It covers an area of about 12 square metres (130 sq ft) and is made from wood. It is square, with four wings and nine courtyards, two of them in the central axis.

Schott's model is in the tradition of many Renaissance and Baroque attempts at reconstruction of the temple by theological and architectural scholars. The Hamburg-based model closely follows an interpretation by the Spanish Jesuit Juan Bautista Villalpando in 1604, in turn, based on the Third Temple described in the Book of Ezekiel.

The reason the expensive and complex model was commissioned is unknown but one theory is that the model was constructed in preparation for building the set of a 1692 opera in two parts titled "The Destruction of Jerusalem" with a libretto by Christian Heinrich Postel.[1]

The model was first exhibited at the Opera. After Schott's death, his heirs put the model up for sale. It was brought to London and eventually sold to an Englishman, allegedly in 1717,[2] who put it on display there from 1724 to 1731.[3] In 1732, it was acquired by an agent of Frederick Augustus I who was the Elector of Saxony, as well as and King of Poland. While advocates may have identified model programs that they hope will be the answer to defunding the police, many community organizers lack the legal training necessary to institutionalize their visions in ways that protect against law enforcement co-option. This Article proposes a model act (the Model Behavioral Health Response Team Act) that can be tailored to meet the needs of local and state policymakers endeavoring to create a new institution to replace the police in responding to mental health, substance use, and housing crises. The institution created by this model act is evidence based, person centered, and community driven. It is informed by empirical evidence on crisis response, federal guidelines, and a case study of political activity resulting from the police killing of a Black man amidst a behavioral health crisis in Greensboro, N.C.

Sir John Soane's impressive Model Room has been re-opened to the public and featured within it is the Temple of Vesta Fouquette model, which has been replicated by Timothy Richards. The original model of this replica is just one of twenty in Soane's collection of models. They are amongst the most beautiful objects in the collections of Sir John Soane's Museum and are plaster model reconstructions of antique, classical buildings and monuments showing them in their '...pristine condition, just as they left the hands of the architect, on the day when the magistrates performed the dedication ceremony consecrating them to the tutelary divinities of Attica', as one contemporary writer described them. A unique collection, they were constructed by the French model-maker Franois Fouquet (1787-1870), probably sometime between 1801 and 1834. Beautifully crafted by master-model maker, Timothy Richards (winner of the 2013 Arthur Ross Award for Artisanship in the classical tradition), in his Bath studio, and an exact replica of the original model by Franois Fouquet, complete with hand-blown glass dome (not shown).

Approx. size of model: height with the glass dome is 26cms from standing surface; the height of the model itself is 18cms; width of wooden base is 19cms and the width of the model itself is 15cms taken from the bottom of the steps.
