A famous Italian traveler named Niccolò de' Conti visited India hundreds of years ago and noticed that just like Italian, almost every word in Telugu ends with a sweet, musical vowel sound (like Amma, Annam, or Aatavalu). It was celebrated by great kings like Sri Krishnadevaraya, who loved the language so much that he declared, "Desa bhashalandu Telugu lessa"—meaning "Among all the nation's languages, Telugu is the best."
