Tekhsmart Zambia is a Zambian non-governmental organization registered with the ministry of community development and social services.The organization is a recognized member of Microsoft for non-profits platform and Tekhsoup Zambia.The aim of the organization is to promote the nine elements of digital citizenship. These are:
o Digital access
o Digital literacy
o Digital etiquette
o Digital commerce
o Digital law
o Digital rights
o Digital responsibilities
o Digital health
o Digital security
We establish clubs and association in Zambian schools, colleges, universities and communities that involve young people in the advocacy against technology abuse. Other functions of the organization are to educate young people, parents and teachers to be responsible and smart users of digital technologies, promote positive use of digital technologies, and educate people about dangers of cyberbullying and technology addiction.We provide counselling services to cyberbullying victims and to make ICTs available in rural communities.The organization operates from Chongwe and Lusaka districts of Zambia. Our offices are in Chongwe at Chalimbana primary and Mukamambo (ii) Girls Secondary schools.
It was founded in 2015 by Chisanga Clive, the current Chief Executive Officer. Other members of the executive are: Njekwa Rachael, vice chief executive officer, Mapulanga Brenda, the executive secretary, Mweene Ng'andu, chief financial officer Kalumba Edward, research director, Nawa Kalimukwa, projects director, Ng’andu Choobe, education director, Mweene Muyanga, digital citizenship director, Twaambo Muntanga, counselling director. The patron is Dr. Phiri William, Chalimbana University.
