I am a work in progress...
Born on November 5, 1981 in Alor Setar, Kedah, I am the second child and the only daughter in a family of three children. I grew up in Penang and had my education in Penang. In 2006, I was awarded the UNESCO/Keizo Obuchi Research Fellowship to undertake research on “Management Modelling of Everglades Wetlands Hydrology and Ecosystems” at the University of Miami. After completing my PhD in 2008, I joined the School of Mathematical Sciences, USM as a senior lecturer and was subsequently promoted to Associate Professor in 2014.
My research interests revolve around mathematical modelling with particular focus on computational simulation of real-life problems to provide insights and to suggest possible solutions. I have published numerous articles, most notably in Journal of Asian Earth Sciences, Ecosystems, Ecological Modelling, Landscape Ecology, Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, Hydrogeology Journal, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters and Journal of Marine Science and Engineering.
