Daughter narrates
Whenever a character lies (specifically Padre) they turn their head to the audience and tell them the truth
The lights dim on the stage and a spotlight shines on the character like we’re entering their mind
Daughter has ADHD
Have daughter quote mom about things she (mom) has said about how terrible theater is
In fact, daughter should quote things from both her parents
And possibly have conversations between her parents as she’s quoting them
The lead gets sick and the understudy needs their own role filled. Padre gets his chance. His mic is muted the whole show. Even for his lines. The audience is slightly confused, but José is thrilled to finally show his talent to the world.
Some lame American says “no way Jo-zay”
Bea whispers in Padre’s ear what he should say to Julia
Email for tech goes to the wrong José, and we don’t find out until later
Julia is On Top Of Things with the family Google calendar
But José is terrible at electronics
He frequently deletes things an accident
During The Email, he checks his work calendar, not his personal one
Directors talk before José shows up for the first time
“Is the tech guy coming?”
“He said ‘OK’ in his email, so … yes?”
