Educators today are faced with increasing demands to respond to multiple digital technologies, not only to integrate them into their instruction but also to look at the ways it impacts student learning.
Collaboration and communication play a vital role in the educational experience and development of 21st century skills for our students in the digital age and for preparing our students for successful futures (Niess & Gillow-Wiles, 2015).
Meeting the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards does require educators to update and integrate new knowledge and practices into their teaching they are unfamiliar with and to think outside their traditional views of how standards are learned and communicated (Niess & Gillow-Wiles, 2015).
How, as educators, do we use technology to foster learning opportunities that were not possible 20 years ago?
