YouTube: Watch William Shatner fly to space (Blue Origin New Shepard-18 supercut), CNET, October 13, 2021.
My Comments
October 13, 2021 William Shatner flew into space on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin New Shepard rocket. On returning to Earth, Captain James T Kirk was very enthusiastic, waxing lyrical about the experience but his flight was at subwarp speed, not capable of interstellar travel.
I suggest to Jeff Bezos that he use some of his strategic resources to search for recovered alien spacecraft and reverse engineer them to improve his aerospace technology.

Former USAF Officers to present evidence of UFOs Tampering with Nuclear Weapons, Cision PR Newswire, October 7, 2021
"A panel of former U.S. Air Force officers will discuss their involvement in UFO incidents at nuclear missile launch facilities and test sites during the Cold War era. Witness affidavits that substantiate the reality of UFO activity at nuclear weapons sites will be available."
My Comments
These incidents occurred in 1967 and repeatability is an important part of the scientific method. The data is ancient and relying on it as an SDI is dangerous.
The important value of the discussion will be to add credible evidence to the existence of off-world UAPs. Will the former USAF officers say the incidents took place because of aliens and not some causes that are more mundane? Why are the officers convinced the effect was due to UFOs and not from Earth?
The discussion will be hosted on YouTube October 19, 2021:

Former Pentagon UFO official writing 'shocking' tell-all book, Fox News, Sep. 23, 2021
"Luis Elizondo joins 'Kennedy' to discuss his upcoming book and congresses' push for new permanent UFO office."
My Comments
Lue's book deal was previously announced by the Hollywood Reporter. Now Lue verifies the existence of his book deal on Fox News, so it appears his book will at some point be released to the public.
According to Wikipedia: "Luis Elizondo is a former U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agent and former employee of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence."
Lue's UAP disclosure facts in his upcoming book probably will be limited by secrecy oaths and nondisclosure agreements he agreed to when working for the DoD.
Perhaps he will discuss in his book already published material he can expand on. The public will determine if his book is actually a 'shocking' tell-all book.

NORAD should search for UAPs, by the SETI Nuggets Editor
The DoD UAP Unclassified Report (June 25, 2021)
"After carefully considering this information, the UAPTF focused on reports that involved UAP largely witnessed firsthand by military aviators and that were collected from systems we considered to be reliable. These reports describe incidents that occurred between 2004 and 2021, with the majority coming in the last two years as the new reporting mechanism became better known to the military aviation community."
"Most reports described UAP as objects that interrupted pre-planned training or other military activity."
My Comments
It appears the unclassified report did not include data from satellites. There is no mention of 'satellites' or 'geospatial' in the report. According to the DoD report: "the UAPTF focused on reports that involved UAP largely witnessed firsthand by military aviators."
A researcher who wants to study UAPs to understand their nature or intent should request NORAD to use its satellites, radar, computers, and other resources.
Using encounters witnessed firsthand by military aviators is very limiting in scope. Without waiting for encounters between aviators and UAPS, NORAD should be able to find UAPs and determine if they fly in other-world ways such as hovering in place, accelerating rapidly, maneuvering in right-angles, diving under the water.
Means and methods should be redacted but questions about UAPs could be ascertained:
How many UAPs are detected daily?
How many UAPs are detected over a period of time?
Are there many UAPs hovering in place, accelerating rapidly, maneuvering in right-angles, diving under the water and emerging into the air?
Can UAPs be categorized into various alien civilizations?
Are UAPs distributed globally or only in specific locations such as countries, and military bases, or other facilities?
How close are UAPs flying to military and commercial aircraft?
Do UAPs pose an overall threat?
Are there patterns of flights such as migration paths?
My Conclusion
Omitting 'satellites' or 'geospatial' data inputs for this, and other, UAP reports eliminates the best source of UAP data.
It is likely NORAD is analyzing their available data to study UAPs. I think the Senate Report Accompanying the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021, as described in the DoD report appendix B, stated the report inputs should include:
A detailed analysis of unidentified phenomena data collected by:
a. Geospatial Intelligence
b. Signals Intelligence
c. Human Intelligence
d. Measurement and Signatures Intelligence

I started a new web page: David Adair.
My recent view on the Roswell UFO crash and alien cadavers, changed from the traditional story about weather balloons or the Mogul project. I now think it is probable there was an alien spacecraft crash in Roswell, NM, in 1947.
The facts that convinced me there was a UFO crash in Roswell started with the DoD film interview of military base mortician, W. Glenn Davis (or Dennis) who described the alien cadavers, the Sheridan transcript in the USAF 994 page debunking pdf, and importantly the YouTube videos of David T Adair who claims to have seen an alien spacecraft underground in the Groom Lake military structure.

'A total lack of focus': Lawmaker on a mission to compel Pentagon to take UFOs seriously, Politico, September 25, 2021
"There has been a growing number of reports in recent years from Navy pilots and other military personnel of highly advanced craft of unknown origin violating protected airspace, some of them maneuvering in ways that seem to defy known aerodynamics."
"Arizona Democrat and Iraq War veteran Rep. Ruben Gallego this week pushed through legislation in the House requiring a permanent office under the secretary of Defense to oversee "the timely and consistent reporting" of what the military calls "unidentified aerial phenomena." And it must share what it learns with Congress at least once a year."
"There's been a total lack of focus across the national security apparatus to actually get at what's happening here," Gallego, who chairs the Armed Services Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations, said in his first extensive interview on the bill. "I think there has been kind of a partial pastime of curiosity seekers that are within the Department of Defense but there has not been any professional initiative across the defense enterprise so that we can actually make some deliberate and knowledgeable decisions."

Harvard professor Avi Loeb discusses the Galileo Project he initiated to obtain scientific proof of UAPs.
My Comments
In my opinion, the project should set up equipment that could substantiate the Navy Tic Tac UAPs that have been reported in the news.
Also, because global coverage might not be practicable, the project researchers should scour the news and find the exact locations where the celebrated Tic Tacs appeared on the west and east coasts. Those are the locations where the project should place their radar and infrared sensors.

My guess is the new office will not be researching flocks of birds or weather balloons. I wonder if a new UFO office will examine recovered saucers in Area 51 Groom Lake? The UFO office might become a public relations facade, like other UFO investigations, covering up the important scientific facts.

David Adair NASCAR to Nevada & Area 51, January 25, 2021
"David Adair shares his story from humble beginnings of building Nascar racing engines in Florida, rockets in his backyard workshop and cow pasture in West Virginia, launching fusion engine prototype rocket in New Mexico to inspecting extra-terrestrial spacecraft underground in Area 51 Nevada."
My Comments
This is a great interview of David Adair but I do not know if what he says is true or false.
in my opinion, there are inconsistencies in his story.
1. David says he blew up his pitholem rocket when in Area 51 he overheard people talking about first strike capability. Hard to believe that's the first time he heard the term because David was working for the USAF and General Curtis LeMay.
2. In some YouTube videos David Adair says there was no danger of a nuclear explosion if the rocket misfired. In other videos he says when he was preparing to launch his rocket he told other people watching the launch the rocket would be OK or blow up leaving their shadows on the neighboring buildings.
The serendipitous events in his life seem remarkable. He was born with a photographic memory, gained knowledge through dreams, had full access to a NASCAR machine shop, had a librarian who let him buy thousands of books, was connected through his mother, a nurse, to General Curtis LeMay, and got support from congressman John Ashbrook.
On the side of believability, David Adair has interacted with many people and he has received very few online negative comments. So we need to decide to believe, or not, he saw an ET spacecraft 200 feet deep underground Groom Lake Nevada, and that David's knowledge of physics is at the level of Stephen Hawking.

Looking for Interstellar Monuments, Scientific American, September 11, 2021, by Avi Loeb
"An ancient civilization from a distant star could have created immortal machines to roam the Milky Way and keep its legacy alive."
"But for the rest of us, our physical remains of the rest of us stays on Earth, where we are left with the fundamental question of what to leave behind so that we will be remembered. Cave dwellers left marks on the walls of their caves. Emperors, kings, wealthy individuals and university officials have left statues or portraits that preserve their physical appearance. Architects have created buildings. But the best monuments are not physical; rather, they are spiritual in nature."
"The recently announced Galileo Project could potentially discover extraterrestrial monuments as they pass near Earth. Autonomous avatars could have been sent by other beings long ago, so that by now those beings have perished. The discovery of advanced technological artifacts will provide the same sense of awe as the discovery of prehistoric cave paintings."
My Comments
1. Perhaps Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb should have spent his life's errorts researching life extension instead of astrophysics. In my opinion, it is likely that at a standard pace of scientific progress within 50 to 100 years from now humans will understand DNA and the biological aging mechanisms sufficiently to extend the average human life-span to hundreds of years.
2. Hopefully, an ET civilization before it blinks out will send a signal containing details about steps for life extension leap-frogging by thousands of years ordinary research by humans.
3. The social sciences are filled with theories and musings about the motivational value of death, for example by individuals such as Sigmund Freud and Ernest Becker.
The cultural anthropologist Ernest Becker wrote "The Denial of Death" describing the human race after “immortality projects” also known as a causa sui in which individuals seek to become a part of something they conjecture will outlast their limited time on Earth.
When humans look up at the night sky we see stars that may have already perished. I hope an ET civilization sends an interstellar encyclopedia or tool box rather than an urn of an astronomer's ashes.

The research in this book presents a stark view of UFO history. The chapter on NASA contains snippets such as this:
"An anonymous source with secret clearance claims that Carpenter told him that at no time when the astronauts were in space were they alone: there was constant surveillance by UFOs. And Dr. Garry Henderson, a senior research scientist for General Dynamics, has confirmed that the astronauts are under strict orders not to discuss their sightings with anyone. Dr. Henderson says that NASA “has many actual photos of these crafts, taken at close range by hand and movie camera.”

I watched episode 5 then saw it is part of a play list. The film was not for or against the existence of UAPs. A scientist describes a tectonic event called earthquake lights however this phenomenon is optical and wouldn't be detected on radar.
The episode explains why existing satellites don't detect UAPs.
From the Alien Files ep 5:
"Another mistake that ufologists often make with respect to satellite images is that they think if ufos are flying around the earth we should see one appear on the satellite image now and then when they say that they obviously do not realize that remote sensing satellites circle earth every 90 minutes at an altitude of 500 to 600 miles if we look at satellite images all we see is a bunch of tiny dots on a huge surface."

Repeatability and UAPs, by the SETI Nuggets Editor, August 6, 2021
Some people suggest scientific investigation of UAPs fails because sightings of UAPs are often not repeatable.
Repeatability is a sine qua non of science experiments. However, not all of science is investigated through experiments.
Examples: observing the Moon and Sun, or observing rare birds or insects, exploring a jungle and finding previously unknown mountains and rivers.
The one-off sighting of the oumuamua was analyzed by scientific tools but scientists cannot conjure up another sighting on demand.
I suggest that not all of science can be analyzed with repeatable experiments. In critiquing events, such as UAP sightings, failing a repeatability test does not clobber a scientific investigation.
Before telescopes were invented, when early humans looked to the skies and observed, without instruments, the Sun and the Moon their observations of those objects were scientifically valid but not repeatable. The observer need not summon up a second Sun or Moon to fulfil the repeatability requirement.

Demonstrating alien provenance, by the SETI Nuggets Editor, August 2, 2021
One of the goals of Project Galileo:
"1. Obtain High-resolution, Multi-detector UAP Images."
"A picture is worth a thousand words. For example, a megapixel image of the surface of a human-scale UAP object at a distance of a mile will allow to distinguish the label: “Made in Country X” from the potential alternative “Made by ETC Y” on a nearby exoplanet in our galaxy."
My Comments
Oumuamua was distinctive because of its unusual trajectory evidencing it was probably not from our solar system. If an astronomer took a megapixel image, say a Jpeg, showing it was labeled: “Made by ETC Y" that would provide significant evidence it was not made by humans.
An optical image of an object whether a sphere, or disc, or triangular in shape would place it in the category: 'UAP' on the grounds our adversaries can be spoofing ETs with that visual labeling: “Made by ETC Y".
Aerobatic maneuvers that defy the laws of physics, or far exceed the technological skills of humans, is a more convincing measurement of an object's ETC provenance than a megapixel image.
In my opinion, the Pentagon and NASA already have scientific proof of UAPs displaying aerobatic maneuvers that defy the laws of physics. If they want, the Pentagon and NASA could reveal this scientific data to the public.

Harvard’s Avi Loeb Thinks We Should Study UFOs and He’s Not Wrong, Scientific American, Dr Seth Shostak, July 29, 2021
Wikipedia: Dr Seth Shostak
Dr. Seth Shostak has been the senior astronomer at the SETI Institute since 2001. He writes a Scientific American article expressing some of his opinions about the recently launched Harvard Astronomy Project Galileo.
"The goal of the Galileo Project is to bring the search for extraterrestrial technological signatures of Extraterrestrial Technological Civilizations (ETCs) from accidental or anecdotal observations and legends to the mainstream of transparent, validated and systematic scientific research."
Astronomer Seth Shostak remarks:
"Avi Loeb, a Harvard astrophysicist who doesn’t hesitate to swim in the shark-infested waters of controversy, is proposing a major effort to find aliens in our solar system, perhaps even in our airspace. He has raised $1.7 million in private funding to launch something he calls the Galileo Project, an initiative to bring the rigor of experimental science to ufology."
"Is this project something to be lauded, or laughed at? Although academe may dismiss the Galileo Project as nothing more than pandering to a gullible public, such prejudice is unhelpful and myopic."
My Comments
There is a tectonic shift to rearrange the world's astronomy research priorities and budgets. The field of SETI may be treading water in the wake of the Pentagon's unclassified report on UAPs.
SETI is great to stir the imagination, but until now the SETI researchers have not detected any ETs whatsoever, nada, zilch, absolutely no ETs found.
I applaud the new Galileo Project by Harvard Astronomy Professor Avi Loeb and hope the research is fruitful. The UAP data in the Pentagon's report evidences verified facts that could potentially be experimentally duplicated by Project Galileo. This situation is in contrast to the starting point for SETI which had no data to build on.

Getting there, even with the fastest rockets we have today, would take thousands of years."

It appears Stephen Hawking is saying humans will find a way to traverse interstellar space faster than the speed of light, or in some other not yet to be discovered way.

Astronomers seek evidence of tech built by aliens, France24 News, July 26, 2021
"What we see in our sky is not something that politicians or military personnel should interpret, because they were not trained as scientists, it's for the science community to figure out," said Loeb, adding that he hoped to increase the project's funding tenfold."
"Apart from studying UFOs, the Galileo Project wants to investigate objects that visit our solar system from interstellar space, and searching for alien satellites that might be probing Earth."
"Loeb refers to such research as a new branch of astronomy he calls "space archaeology," intended to complement the existing field of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI), which mainly probes for alien radio signals."
My Comments
1. Harvard Astronomy Professor Avi Loeb says: "What we see in our sky is not something that politicians or military personnel should interpret, because they were not trained as scientists".
I think Dr Avi Loeb erroneously conflates military personnel, who are end users of various sensors, and military scientists and engineers who designed and manufactured the sensors.
2. Professor Loeb says: "it's for the science community to figure out." Professor Loeb is part of a science community. That's perhaps the reason he praises them and delegates to them the responsibility for examining the new data he conceives his new Galileo Project may discover.
There are reasons not to extend enthusiastic credence to the "science community". SETI scientists have tried, mainly with radio telescopes, to discover intelligent life in the universe and to the best of my knowledge have come up with no discoveries. Zilch, nada, absolutely nothing. If they discovered ETs or LGMs they have not published any papers.
If the SETI scientists are bona fide scientists and they have over the span of decades discovered no intelligent life in the universe why should SETI scientists be thought of as part the group that will capably analyze the Galileo data?
In my opinion, the Pentagon, and almost definitely NASA, both have HD video proof of the existence of ET originated UAPs. It would be much more fruitful to declassify and distribute that data to the public's citizen scientists.
All data the Pentagon has on UAPs and ETs can be declassified by the POTUS. If he thinks there are no ETs what is the reason he doesn't declassify the UAP files?
Conclusion
Professor Loeb is at a high level in the academic world of astronomy so he has the ability to start a new branch of science he calls "space archaeology". "Archeology" seems to denote backward looking at ancient artifacts.

"The culture of science and how it deals with UAP reports."
"How humanity should respond if we discover UAPs are alien in origin."
"A project for collecting high quality data on UAPs."
My Comments
Professor Avi Loeb appears to rule out 'made by humans' and he opines that if UAPs are created by nature the phenomenon must be able to create actual objects.
Is that like the appearance of objects such as morning dew, or hail? Hey look under that shrub, there's a UAP.
Dr Avi Loeb is correct in wanting to obtain more data such as high resolution photos of UAPs. However, I believe the Pentagon has for many years sufficient information from various types of sensors to have a high level of confidence the Tic Tac UAPs were built by ETs.
The existing military sensors were presumably built by excellent scientists and engineers. The sensors include eye witnesses, optical cameras, radar, infrared cameras, satellite images, and sonar.
Whenever a scientist, such as an astronomer, encounters Pentagon data they assume the cause of anomalies is the Pentagon's personnel lack of skills in science and the result of HW and SW bugs.
A release of more existing Pentagon data would in my opinion motivate thousands of new citizen scientists.

UFO mystery Pentagon has extremely clear 23 minute UFO video showing ‘multiple’ craft moving in strange patterns, claims insider, The Sun, July 21, 2021
"The Pentagon allegedly has in its possession a 23-minute long video of UFOs moving in a strange pattern that will leave viewers "rattled", a former insider has claimed.
"Lue Elizondo, who headed up the secretive Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), revealed the existence of the footage as pressure continues to mount on the US to come clean on the phenomena."
"The former insider is considered a leading authority on UFOs - and investigated the phenomena with AATIP until the unit was quietly dissolved in 2012."
"Mr Elizondo described the footage as "extremely compelling", "definitive" and "perplexing" - and said it was circulated amongst the US intelligence community."
"The video is said to show multiple UFOs which are moving in ways and strange "patterns" that humans do not conventionally understand - with data recorded using US military systems."
"It was recorded while he was still at AATIP between 2008 and 2012, the craft were big enough for "several" human sized beings to fit inside, and the objects were not a "Tic Tac" shape."

The Mystery of the Hypersonic Tic Tac, Slate, July 5, 2021
"A national security reporter on the U.S. government’s perplexing UFO report."
"If these are Russian or Chinese hypersonic drones, would we even get a clear picture of that?"
"It’s a great question. If we’re not getting a clear picture of it, one question is why? Let’s just posit, for sake of argument, that the Russians or the Chinese have developed highly advanced craft that don’t look like normal planes, that move at incredible speeds. Why have we not detected that until now? Why have they been able to keep that a secret? If we’ve invested all of this money in advanced weaponry of our own and advanced detection systems, but our adversaries have managed to build something that completely got past us, that is more advanced than anything that we have, and that defies our ability to characterize it in any kind of consistent or dependable way, that would be a really, really big deal and would speak to some major vulnerability or gap in our national security architecture."
"You cover national security and intelligence. How did your sources react to this?"
"I think with a bit of befuddlement as well, but most people I have talked to on this look at these systems - the ones that really display the abnormal flight characteristics—and they say, “This is not the U.S. government’s. We didn’t build this.” The U.S. government does not have the technology and the capability to build systems that accelerate to thousands of miles an hour, or sit there and appear to hover in the wind with no sign of propulsion."
"And does Raytheon? Or are they saying this belongs to some other country, some other technological alignment?"
"The people I’ve talked to who think that it could be a manmade technology hold out the possibility that it is a Russian or a Chinese system that’s very advanced. They can’t understand though, in the cases of the ones - these 18 or so observed incidents that just defy all understanding of aerodynamics - how the Russians or the Chinese could have built something even more advanced than our stuff. And maybe that speaks to a kind of American bias that we have the best technology, but based on everything we observe, we do. If we haven’t built a sort of hypersonic Tic Tac, do we really think the Chinese built it? My sources are very skeptical of that."
My Comments
If the US government, or a defense company, built the Tic Tacs would they buzz US pilots and military installations? If China or Russia built the Tic Tacs wouldn't they display them publicly in a military parade?
Most of the public is focusing in on the number of UAPs in the report. They should instead analyze the physics defying aerobatics displayed by the Tic Tacs. In my opinion, the Tic Tac's aeronautical behavior strongly evidences their ET provenance.

Why the Pentagon’s latest UFO report is a turning point on the issue, PBS News Hour, June 27, 2021
"The U.S. intelligence released a preliminary and watershed report on unidentified aerial phenomena or UFOs. The report is the government’s most concerted and serious attempt to understand an issue without the fear of being ridiculed. The report found no evidence of aliens but acknowledged at least 143 unexplained sightings since 2004."
My Comments
People are very curious about whether there is non-human intelligent life in the universe. Astronomers believed by looking at distant exoplanets they would be the ones who answered the question. However, they were wrong and actually the Pentagon solved the Fermi Paradox decades ago.
The PBS YouTube is correct: "The Pentagon's latest UFO report is a turning point on the issue."

Ministry of Truth About Aliens, by the SETI Nuggets Editor, July 16, 2021
Thankfully, the US does not have an Orwellian Ministry of Truth. Anyone is free to weigh in with an opinion about UAPs, Tic Tacs, ETs.
Following the Pentagon's release of the UAP unclassified Report (June 25, 2021) there is a reasonable expectation hundreds of public figures may choose to express their opinions on the subjects of UAPs and ETs.
So far US Pres Biden has avoided the subject and instead has redirected the questions about ETs and UAPs to former Pres Barack Obama.
Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Richard Branson founded and operate their own space exploration / flight companies.
Will they go on the record with their opinions about UAPs, Tic Tacs, ETs?
They may choose to say any of these statements:
I do not want to talk about it.
More data is needed.
The topic is classified.
There is nothing anomalous about the Tic Tac's aeronautical behaviors.
My estimate is the three CEOs of space exploration / flight companies will eventually go on the record with their opinions about alien UAPs.
After Sir Richard Branson successfully completed a suborbital flight July 11, 2021 on the Virgin Galactic I think I saw him on the news brushing off the subject of the DoD UAP report.
I wonder if Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Richard Branson will tell the public the truth about the impossible physics exhibited by the Tic Tacs.
As CEOs of space flight companies they will have to think carefully about the answers they offer the public before they throw the bull.
I believe Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Richard Branson have first hand or at least hearsay knowledge about the contents of the classified DoD UAP report. Elon Musk launches military payloads so he almost certainly knows the classified information about the ET manufactured UAPs.
I hope Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Richard Branson go on record soon about the UAP report. The choice to tell the truth, conceal, or brazenly lie is theirs. Make no mistake about this the space flight CEOs have the opportunity of losing all credibility with the public.

The Pentagon already has data demonstrating there are UAPs not manufactured on Earth. by the SETI Nuggets Editor, July 15, 2021
However, for their own particular reasons the Pentagon is not releasing this data to the public.
Four criteria that combine to strongly evidence UAPs with ET provenance:
1. UAP flight behavior that defies the laws of physics.
2. UAP flight behavior that does not defy the laws of physics but evidences aeronautical behavior far more advanced than capable by the aircraft of the US, China, and Russia. Examples: Instantaneous acceleration, right angle turns, hovering in the air.
3. Data showing what occurs when UAPs get close to or enter US restricted airspace. If the intruding UAPs entered US restricted airspace they would be stopped (escorted away or shot down) if they were aircraft from foreign Earthly manufacturers for example Russia or China.
4. Data showing the UAPs are buzzing our foreign adversaries. UAPs buzzing US military installations evidences the UAPs are not manufactured by the US military or private US skunk works. Even the most secret, obscure US skunkworks would not buzz US military personnel and US bases.
Similarly, if US satellites detect the UAPs are buzzing foreign military installations that would evidence the country buzzed is not the location from where the UAPs originated.
Some astronomers late in the game of UAPs want to start gathering data from scratch (a noted Harvard astronomer and NASA).
In my opinion, scientists should try to obtain the existing data on the four criteria defined above already gathered by the Pentagon.
Probably NASA has held data for many years that can prove the existence of ET manufactured UAPs. They want to look instead for microbes or methane on Mars instead of UAPs on Earth from ETs. In my opinion, NASA may be at the verge of becoming the least trusted US scientific federal agency.
Concealing or not disclosing data about ET manufactured UAPs is the largest lie the US government has ever perpetrated on the US public.

"Retired US Navy Chief Master-at Arms, Sean Cahill, is an eyewitness to the Nimitz Tic Tac UAP (otherwise known as a UFO). He explains to Glenn exactly what he and others witnessed while on board the nuclear aircraft. Then, he explains to Glenn why the 9-page report on UFOs recently released by Congress isn’t as discouraging (or lacking of information) that some may think."
My Comments
Glenn Beck interviewed Chief-Master-at Arms, Sean Cahill a Nimitz Tic Tac eye witness.
Many researchers who describe the Nimitz UAP incident ignore the number and types of Carrier Strike Group radars and sensors and sonars that were involved. For example, they completely gloss over the role the USS Princeton, an Aegis class guided missile cruiser, had in detecting the UAPs and diverting the F-18 fighters to the UAP location.
"Glenn Beck is a well known conservative political commentator. He is the CEO, founder, and owner of Mercury Radio Arts, the parent company of his television and radio network TheBlaze. Does the US Government Know For Sure The Tic Tac UAPs Are Manufactured by ETS? by the SETI Nuggets Editor, July 12, 2021
My guess is the US government has a mountain of data proving ETs have visited Earth. I will further guess they have proof of other forms of life.
At the mundane level of the Tic Tac UAPs, what kind of data exists in the US government hands that proves with a high level of confidence Tic Tacs are other worldly?
In this SETI Nuggets website I have often opined the aerodynamic UAP behavior that defies the laws of physics is one way to demonstrate ET provenance.
However, there may be more methods to get the same result. For example, according to several US Senators and Defense experts the UAPs often get close to or enter restricted airspace.
If the base commanders thought they were being invaded by Russian or Chinese aircraft wouldn't the US response be to escort the UAPs out of the restricted airspace but more likely the US would blow them out of the sky?
A defensive attack against trespassing Russian or Chinese aircraft or by a UAP would make the news. Look at the historical resonance of Roswell.
But there's no downing of incursing Chinese, Russian, or UAPs in the news. Why not? because the invaders are ET manufactured spacecraft and the US arsenal probably does not have the capability to shoot down an ET UAP. (In my opinion that should not even be considered.)
Adding the anomalous UAP behavior and the lack of effective responses when one of the UAPs invades US restricted airspace isn't that enough to conclude the Tic Tac UAPs are not from this world?
I do not why the Pentagon feels it is an advantage to keep UAP data a secret from the public - possibly cultural inertia.
I believe political and science luminaries who have over decades kept UAP data secret will lose credibility when UAP data is found out by the public. Censoring UAP data is censoring fundamental data required to do research in Physics, Astronomy, Biology, and Cosmology. Student textbooks at all levels will need a chapter to describe the era of political and science censorship and why it occurred.

"Also discussed are the co-interests of astrophysics and the military, the tracking of intercontinental ballistic missiles from Russia, radio-echoing to understand the orbits of undetectable asteroids, and the results of displaced funding in Science."
My Comments
Tic Tac UAP data showing aeronautic behavior that defies the laws of physics evidences the Tic Tacs' ET provenance.
The Arecibo radio telescope detected absolutely no evidence of ET civilizations. Perhaps the Arecibo radio telescope occasionally picked up signals that were dust, flocks of birds, hardware or software bugs, or weather balloons.
There's no point whatsoever to rebuild the Arecibo radio telescope because there are many people with mobile phone cameras and they surely would be able to take pictures of any ETs.

The UAP Report and the UAP Issue, Christopher Mellon, July 7, 2021
About: Christopher Mellon spent nearly 20 years in the U.S. Intelligence Community, including serving as the Minority Staff Director of the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.
"In my view, the UAP report’s findings strengthen the case for the alien hypothesis by undermining the main alternatives and providing examples of capabilities we cannot emulate or even understand – precisely what one would expect if any of these reports involve genuine alien technology. A fair headline might have been: “UAP Report Strengthens Alien Hypothesis.”
"I suggest we begin by recognizing that the immediate challenge is existential, not academic. It is first and foremost a matter of national security. There is nothing anyone is going to see through a telescope that helps to resolve the issue and the best tools we have available to find answers are, right now, mostly in the hands of the national security community."
"Aliens or not, we urgently need to know is who is operating these mysterious and highly advanced vehicles in restricted airspace above American test ranges, carrier strike groups, military bases, and nuclear weapons facilities. We need to determine not only why, but how they are doing it, because some of the capabilities we are observing suggest revolutionary scientific insights and engineering capabilities that place America at a potentially huge strategic disadvantage."
"Incidentally, the press and public should know that these incidents are occurring far more often than the report suggests. Remember, the report does not include hundreds of thousands of civilian incidents or those by foreign nations; it does not list the thousands of reports that occurred between WW2 and 2004 (e.g., over 700 unsolved Blue Book cases); and of course, it cannot account for the incidents that were never reported due to the stigma surrounding the topic. Polling data suggests there are roughly ten UAP sightings for each sighting reported."
My Comments
I believe the Pentagon eye witnesses and sensors can discriminate between dust, flocks of birds, ice crystals, and reflections. Studying up on EW/plasma painting and that still does not explain the UAPs.
We are at a pivot point or an egress of SETI research replaced by researching the Tic Tac UAPs. Should science budgets go to astronomers looking for methane on Mars or distant exoplanets, or should science budgets go to researching the Tic Tac UAPS? The cat is out of the bag. ET vehicles, the Tic Tac UAPs, are buzzing restricted US airspace on Earth.
Chris Mellon: "Aliens or not, we urgently need to know is who is operating these mysterious and highly advanced vehicles in restricted airspace above American test ranges, carrier strike groups, military bases, and nuclear weapons facilities. We need to determine not only why, but how they are doing it, because some of the capabilities we are observing suggest revolutionary scientific insights and engineering capabilities that place America at a potentially huge strategic disadvantage."
"However, because the unclassified report carefully averted forthright discussion of the technology gap, the press seemed to have missed this crucial point. This is perhaps mostly because unlike members of Congress and the IC they do not have access to the classified data. However, the truth is revealed every time a legislator or former intelligence official privy to the classified data comments on the issue."

So the UFOs Are Real. Now What? National Review, June 26, 2021
National Review is a conservative magazine founded by William F. Buckley Jr. in 1955.
"The government’s report contains important admissions: These things are still (mostly) unidentified, they’re flying, and they’re physical objects."
"The first thing to keep in mind is that the public version of the report was short. Painfully short when compared with some of the aspirational dreams of the faithful in ufology. The classified report given to appropriate congressional committees (Intelligence and Armed Services) is reportedly ten times longer and contains all manner of goodies, but we may never see those."
"One of the first was that the vast majority of “UAP” incidents they studied “probably do represent physical objects.” They draw this conclusion from the fact that most were picked up using multiple avenues of sensory data, in addition to testimony from pilots and technicians who watch the skies for a living. So it’s not just swamp gas, “ball lightning,” or birds. And if you’ve seen one, you may not be crazy. (Or if you are, it’s not because of this.)"
"Prior to the release of the report, the Pentagon had already stated that what people have been witnessing is not an example of secret United States government technology."
"In the report, they went one step further, saying that they “currently lack data to indicate any UAP are part of a foreign collection program or indicative of a major technological advancement by a potential adversary.”
"While some dedicated, skeptical journalists might latch onto the phrase “currently lack,” interpreting that to mean that the UFOs could still turn out to be Chinese or Russian, this reading seems dubious. As the report also notes, most of the reported sightings took place in controlled airspace, in the midst of our naval battle groups and even over military facilities in the middle of mainland North America. If there were the slightest indication that those things came from Russia or China and were showing up over our testing range in Nevada (it’s happened), there wouldn’t be a “concern over possible national security concerns.” We would already have the real-world, military equivalent of Will Smith up there in an F/A-18E Super Hornet shooting them down."
"Or at least trying to shoot them down. Unfortunately, in one of the most famous encounters yet revealed between our Top Gun pilots and these objects, those pilots claim that they left our Super Hornets in the dust. Commander David Fravor of the now infamous “tic-tac” incident has stated repeatedly that he never would have stood a chance against it if the object had become hostile."
My Comments
The National Review is not easily hoaxed or spoofed. When a National Review headline says: "So the UFOs Are Real" you can bet your boots they did some fact-checking.
The NR editors say the classified UAP report is ten times longer and contains all manner of goodies. I figured the classified annex would be stuffed with marketing pitches explaining why the US should invest in hypersonic weapons. It appears the classified report fesses up about the other worldly aeronautical capabilities of the Tic Tac UAPs. Where did the interstellar Tic Tacs come from? They have been on Earth at least 70 years so they probably like it here.

Are UFOs from outer space? Key questions the UAP report left unanswered, The Hill, July 4, 2021
"While American intelligence organizations are reluctant to draw any definitive conclusions, they seem to be particularly interested in the small number of incidents in which the objects demonstrated weird behavior that seemed to violate the laws of physics."
"Let us propose, as a hypothesis, that some kind of alien intelligence is responsible for some of these sightings. What kind of conclusions can we draw?
"First, the aliens don’t seem to be particularly interested in making direct contact with Earth humans. No indications exist that spacecraft are about to land on the White House lawn (or at the United Nations, depending on which science fiction story one favors) or send a signal from afar (as in the film “Contact” based on the Carl Sagan novel.) On the other hand, they also seem to be uninterested in keeping their existence a secret."
"That last point is a key. A civilization that is capable of crossing the interstellar gulf would likely also have the technology to conceal its spacecraft from prying eyes. “Star Trek,” after all, posited a cloaking device as well as a warp drive. Indeed, contemporary aerospace stealth technology has become quite advanced."
"Does the fact that the aliens (if these are aliens) don’t mind that we see them suggest that they want us to at least suspect they exist? For what purpose? To keep us on our toes?"
My Comments
Perhaps the ET civilization didn't send humans a radio wave signal for the same reasons humans do not signal ants before they sit down at a park table for a picnic.
Another possibility is the Tic Tac UAPs did send a signal but not to humans. Instead they sent an "All Clear" signal to their "mother ship" or originating ET civilization.
To understand ETs humans will need to think like an ET.

"They look down and atop this spot in the water they see this object that they’ve described as looking like a capsule - which is where the flying Tic Tac analogy comes from. It was moving very erratically, seemingly very randomly over the surface of the water, doing all kinds of things that a plane doesn’t do. It doesn’t appear to have wings. It doesn’t appear to have a propulsion system like a jet or a propeller. And then it just disappears. There’s been some reporting that it’s then picked up two seconds later, many, many miles away by the radar systems on the carrier. So these people are describing—and the sensors are backing them up -some kind of physical object that appears to be moving at rates of speed and demonstrating aerodynamic properties and characteristics that don’t match what we understand as human technology."

“My hope ... is that we will have a series of hearings and possibly a public hearing in the very near future,” Carson said, though he did not give a specific timeline."

The UAP report was sketchy, not revealing the important data, but I hope all of the data underlying the report has been preserved as both scientific and legal evidence. The US Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued June 25, 2021 a much anticipated 9 page unclassified report: "Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena".
The report did not offer any raw data to accompany its findings. The DNI report would never pass a peer reviewed procedure.
Here are a few excerpts from the report:
"In a limited number of incidents, UAP reportedly appeared to exhibit unusual flight characteristics. These observations could be the result of sensor errors, spoofing, or observer misperception and require additional rigorous analysis."
"There are probably multiple types of UAP requiring different explanations based on the range of appearances and behaviors described in the available reporting. Our analysis of the data supports the construct that if and when individual UAP incidents are resolved they will fall into one of five potential explanatory categories: airborne clutter, natural atmospheric phenomena, USG or U.S. industry developmental programs, foreign adversary systems, and a catchall “other” bin."
My Comments
How many times does the public have to hear UAP facts described as sensor errors, spoofing, observer misperception, airborne clutter, and natural atmospheric phenomena?
Why does the military keep buying sensors that report errors? The sensors can't tell the difference between dust, a flock of birds, and a hypersonic UAP. This is not believable.
One reason the report was requested by the US Senate Intelligence Committee was to take away the stigma a military or commercial pilot might experience by reporting their sighting of a UAP.
A report by a pilot would now, under the framework of the DNI report, be labeled "Observer misperception" or "Other". Not exactly encouraging report categories.
"Advanced technologies" and "incursions" into restricted areas are downplayed. The word "incursion" is mentioned in the report one time. Senator Rubio speaks often on the facts UAPs are entering restricted airspaces. Did he arrive at that thought out of thin air?
Conclusion
If a government research report attributes UAPs and their behaviors to sensor errors and combines that with data nondisclosure to protect the means and methods of gathering information there is no possibility the public will ever know the truth about UAPs from that entity.
Thankfully, the DNI is emphatically not the Ministry of Truth. There will be more UAP sightings, military and civilian, and the truth will continue to prove the existence of UAPs and their ET origins.
My guess is currently the US military has a mountain of data proving the existence of UAPs and ETs.
For some reason, the DNI decided at this time to throw the bull once again on the subject of UAPs.
When I read news articles such as this (below) I can only wonder if the sparsity of conclusions in the DNI report can be squared with news reports such as this:
Ex-Navy Lieutenant Says U.S. Pilots Have Seen UFOs Every Single Day for Years, Daily Beast, May 17, 2021
"Spotting an UFO sounds like the most extraordinary thing you could witness but, according to former U.S. Navy Lt. Ryan Graves, pilots see them every single day off the Atlantic coast. Graves was one of many current and ex-military officials to speak about their UFO experiences on Sunday’s 60 Minutes. He said UFOs should be considered not as an outlandish conspiracy theory but as a very real national-security risk. Graves said he first saw a UFO in restricted airspace near Virginia Beach in 2014, and the object showed up on his radar and infrared targeting cameras. He said the sightings have happened “every day for at least a couple years” and has three explanations: top-secret U.S. technology, foreign spying devices, or something not from this planet."

Don’t Dismiss the Alien Hypothesis, Chris Mellon, June 24, 2021
"We have no reason to believe that many of these objects are from Russia or China, and in fact it seems improbable. Especially when we consider how long this phenomenon has been observed."
"The radical capabilities and mysterious appearance of some of the vehicles being observed are consistent with what we'd expect of probes or craft from a space-faring civilization. As Arthur Clarke famously observed, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
"We can no longer deny that someone has mastered technology beyond our understanding and is using it to monitor U.S. military forces and probably much else. In some cases, such as the famous encounters of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group, non-human origin is presently the theory that best fits all the facts."
"Regardless of the origin of these craft, the stakes could not be higher. Ignorance is not a national security strategy, and we have never before been a nation deterred by fear of the unknown."
My Comments
I agree with Chris Mellon: Ignorance is not a national security strategy.
The US government has known about the UAPs for at least 70 years. General Nathan F. Twining and his Flying Discs issue triggered off research projects as seen in the Twining Memo distribution list. Chris Mellon can find out if those projects were fruitful.
Exposing unclassified data to the public is a good idea and I commend Senators Reid and Rubio on their initiatives. Lots of folks will now have their chance to discuss UAPs and their origins, capabilities, and possible missions.
Questions for Congress Regarding the Pending UAP Report, Chris Mellon, June 24, 2021
"The pending UAP report raises vital questions about what is happening in our skies and the organization and performance of the U.S. intelligence community. Here are some questions I propose for those in Congress charged with protecting the country and overseeing the Intelligence Community:"
"Why did awareness of the UAP phenomenon have to come from private citizens outside the government devoting several years of their lives to bringing this issue to the attention of the American people and their government? What does this stunning intelligence failure tell us about the U.S. Intelligence Community? How is it possible that these intrusions could continue for years without notice by any senior government officials or even NORAD? What other strategic issues are the intelligence community failing to report due to potential controversy or stigma?"

Maybe the Aliens Really Are Here, Scientific American, June 21, 2021
"The local probe might need to send data back to its home base for deeper analysis and/or instructions on how to proceed. If the probe began transmitting data to its home in 1950 after its detection of early television signals, and if that home base were located at the modest distance of 150 light-years, then the earliest year in which the probe might receive instructions to make contact with Earth would be 2250."
"However, when we do finally hear from a local probe, after it has decoded us, its transmissions may be in a terrestrial language. The ensuing dialogue will take place in near real time, as opposed to the painfully slow dialogue between ourselves and an alien civilization transmitting from a star at hundreds or thousands of light years distance."
My Comments
There have been theories on various types of robotic interstellar space probes, including these:
Bracewell probe, Wikipedia
1. "A Bracewell probe would be constructed as an autonomous robotic interstellar space probe with a high level of artificial intelligence, and all relevant information that its home civilization might wish to communicate to another culture. It would seek out technological civilizations - or alternatively monitor worlds where there is a likelihood of technological civilizations arising - and communicate over "short" distances (compared to the interstellar distances between inhabited worlds) once it discovered a civilization that meets its contact criteria. It would make its presence known, carry out a dialogue with the contacted culture, and presumably communicate the results of its encounter to its place of origin. In essence, such probes would act as an autonomous local representative of their home civilization and would act as the point of contact between the cultures."
"Since a Bracewell probe can communicate much faster, over shorter distances, and over large spans of time, it can communicate with alien cultures more efficiently than radio message exchange might. The disadvantage to this approach is that such probes cannot communicate anything not in their data storage, nor can their contact criteria or policies for communication be quickly updated by their "base of operations".
Self-replicating spacecraft, Wikipedia
2. "Von Neumann proved that the most effective way of performing large-scale mining operations such as mining an entire moon or asteroid belt would be by self-replicating spacecraft, taking advantage of their exponential growth. In theory, a self-replicating spacecraft could be sent to a neighbouring planetary system, where it would seek out raw materials (extracted from asteroids, moons, gas giants, etc.) to create replicas of itself. These replicas would then be sent out to other planetary systems. The original "parent" probe could then pursue its primary purpose within the star system. This mission varies widely depending on the variant of self-replicating starship proposed."
Also see, Fermi Paradox, in SETI Nuggets.
The Scientific American article suggests it may take awhile for the probe to learn the target civilization's language. If Deep Mind's AlphaZero can learn chess in 9 hours, it's likely the computing power onboard an interstellar probe would not take long to learn languages and other characteristics about humans.
AlphaZero, DeepMind: "To learn each game, an untrained neural network plays millions of games against itself via a process of trial and error called reinforcement learning. At first, it plays completely randomly, but over time the system learns from wins, losses, and draws to adjust the parameters of the neural network, making it more likely to choose advantageous moves in the future. The amount of training the network needs depends on the style and complexity of the game, taking approximately 9 hours for chess, 12 hours for shogi, and 13 days for Go."

How are UFO Confirmations Not Front-Page News?, Glenn Beck, May 2021
"As more and more military UFO sightings are confirmed by the Pentagon, I have to ask, how is this NOT the biggest story of our lifetimes? These objects are moving in ways that require technology that almost has to be otherworldly. One Navy pilot claimed that these sightings are happening daily. And even former president Obama just confirmed that "there's footage and records of objects in the skies that we don't know exactly what they are. So why are we still so skeptical?"
My Comments
Glenn Beck is a conservative political commentator. He and his radio audience favor the ET origins hypothesis.
After the Senate unclassified UAP report is made public, we may see billions of people debating the UAP origins. Are the Tic Tac UAPs manufactured by humans or by an ET civilization?
In my opinion, they were manufactured by ETs. My reasoning is humans do not have the capability to build aircraft with these capabilities: UAP Flight Characteristics. I suppose the people who believe the ETs are manufactured by humans say if you cannot show us an ET the other-worldly flight characteristics of the Tic Tac UAPs aren't enough to prove the aircraft were manufactured by an ET civilization. I think lots of people, probably billions of people, will debate this issue.

Are Tic Tac UAPs Performing Military Surveillance for a Terrestrial Foreign State? by the SETI Nuggets Editor, June 11, 2021
In my opinion, the Tic Tac UAPs clearly evidence ET advanced aeronautical knowledge. My speculation is the Tic Tac UAPs also may have advanced knowledge in an array of sciences such as physics, chemistry, and biology. I do not look at the UAPs only according to the inquiry scope defined by the US Senate Intelligence Committee.
Recently in the news a US Senator opined the Tic Tac UAPs are performing surveillance for a foreign state. The US Senator seemed quite sure about this and only viewed the Tic Tacs from a military perspective.
A state that organically developed Tic Tac technology could find other paths to commercialize the Tic Tac technology. For example, they could apply the Tic Tac technology to commercial airlines and space ships.
I don't think using an interstellar aircraft to conduct surveillance for a terrestrial power is a logical application of the ET technology. A state that acquired Tic Tac technology would probably integrate it with their overall military capabilities, airforce and ships, etc. The ETs that manufactured the Tic Tacs might conquer the Earth and/or terraform it. In my opinion, the Senator's bicoastal surveillance theory seems to evidence a weak understanding of the Tic Tacs capabilities.
It is more likely the Tic Tacs are performing surveillance for ETs than for China or Russia. I don't believe China or Russia has the Tic Tac technology.

UAP Physics, Muons, and Occam's Razor, by the SETI Nuggets Editor, June 10, 2021
Parsimony or Occam's razor is a principle that says an explanation that is simpler and uses fewer assumptions is preferable to a more complex explanation.
Applying that rule, phenomena that posit ETs or violations in the laws of physics should probably be considered ipse dixit wrong.
UAPs and physics
Estimating Flight Characteristics of Anomalous Unidentified Aerial Vehicles, September 25, 2019
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7514271/
'These unidentified craft typically exhibit anomalous flight characteristics, such as traveling at extremely high speeds, changing direction or accelerating at extremely high rates, and hovering motionless for long periods of time. Furthermore, these craft appear to violate the laws of physics in that they do not have flight or control surfaces, any visible means of propulsion apparently violating Newton’s Third Law, and can operate in multiple media, such as space (low Earth orbit), air, and water without apparent hindrance, sonic booms, or heat dumps.'
My Comments
Using the principle of parsimony the UAP behavior should be explainable by a mundane solution that does not need violations in the laws of physics.
The same astrophysicists have no problem getting excited about gray matter that fills most of the universe or the conjectured string theories.
Muons are subatomic particles that may require a modification of standard physics:
Long-Awaited Muon Measurement Boosts Evidence for New Physics, Scientific American, April 7, 2021
"Muon g-2 is an experiment at Fermi National Laboratory in Batavia, Ill, that aims to precisely measure how magnetic muons are by watching them wobble in a magnetic field. If the experimental value of these particles’ magnetic moment differs from the theoretical prediction-an anomaly-that deviation could be a sign of new physics, such as some subtle and unknown muon-influencing particle or force."
Why are physicists eager to change the standard model of particle physics. Instead they should say the principle of parsimony rules out any change in the laws of physics.
Perhaps, there's a glitch in the equipment or the anomalous Muon data may be caused by weather conditions or by orbiting satellites or by swamp gas or optical illusions.
Physicists undoubtedly would say: We take utmost precautions to eliminate all sources of error. Maybe they are missing a few sources of errors.
Hopefully, the upcoming US Senate UAP report, probably submitted to the Senate June 25, 2021, will demonstrate the UAPs are real, and they aren't caused by errors in all of the military's radars, infrared, and other types of cameras and sensors.
Conclusion
Physics is rife with conjectures such as gray matter and string theories, and has no problem accepting Muons which do not fit the standard model of particle physics. When it comes to UAPs the same physicists are quick to conclude the evidence for UAPs is caused by one or multiple spurious human or technological errors.
A reason I believe the military sensor data is more significant than, say, SETI data is getting the military data correct can be a matter of life or death for a fighter pilot. With SETI the same stakes do not exist. If SETI scientists miss a signal from an ET civilization a few tens of light years away it is no big deal.
Finally, I consider it laughable the Senate UAP report may describe the aerodynamic capabilities of UAPs and conclude those don't evidence ETs. We know the UAPs are not from skunk works, China, or Russia.
Bring out Dawkins, maybe he would suggest the UAPs evolved according to Darwin's theories and laws of natural selection - that's what he says about watches, computers, and airplanes. Probably he would suggest UAPs evolved under the oceans or in volcanos, out of sight for thousands of years,

Experts Weigh In on Pentagon UFO Report, Scientific American, June 8, 2021
“Recently, there has been a flurry of misleading publicity about UFOs [based on military reports]. A sober examination of these claims reveals that there is a lot less to them than first meets the eye,” Fraknoi says. Given sufficient evidence (which, arguably, many of the recent reports fail to provide), UFO sightings can essentially always be tied to terrestrial or celestial phenomena, such as lights from human-made vehicles and reentering space junk, he adds."
"There is not going to be any “big reveal,” says Robert Sheaffer, a leading skeptical investigator of UFOs. “There are no aliens here on Earth, and so the government cannot ‘disclose’ what it does not have. Some people think that the government knows more about UFOs, or UAPs, than the public, but it’s clear that they know less on the subject than our best civilian UFO investigators, not more.”

A Logical Method To Show The DoD Knows the Tic Tacs Are Not Terrestrial, by the SETI Nuggets Editor, June 7, 2021
The upcoming Senate June 2021 UAP report appears to conclude the Tic Tac UAPs probably originated on Earth.
I believe the DoD ruled out the possibility the Tic Tac UAPs originated in a foreign state on Earth.
Here's my reasoning:
The Tic Tacs and other UAPs committed incursions into US airspace over and around military installations.
If the DoD thought UAPs making incursions into restricted areas were piloted by a foreign human enemy adversary they probably would have attacked the invading aircraft.
None of the pilots interviewed on YouTube or other news sources said the US pilots tried to attack the UAPs. If it was China or Russia buzzing US military installations, likely the pilots would have attempted to destroy the illegally invading aircraft.
For this reason, I believe the DoD ruled out the possibility the Tic Tac UAPs originated in a foreign state on Earth contrary to the DoD conclusion stated in the Senate UAP report.

To gain information useful for building aircraft and other machines and vehicles.
To learn how to defend against them if the science and engineering knowledge is acquired by adversaries.
To modify the known rules of physics according to the behaviors of the Tic Tacs which appear to defy the current rules of physics.
A Von Neumann probe? by the SETI Nuggets Editor, June 7, 2021
I wrote this post in SETI Nuggets, Fermi Paradox, my explanation 008 about two years ago.
A Von Neumann probe is a theoretical design to explore the Milky Way by launching self-replicating spacecraft that will grow and spread throughout the galaxy exponentially.
In a typical scenario, a probe lands on a planet or asteroid, mines it for resources, then builds multiple clones of itself. Each clone is launched repeating the process and after a few million years the probes populate the entire galaxy.
The Fermi paradox becomes: Why hasn't a Von Neumann probe been discovered on Earth?
In my opinion, there's a mismatch between the lifespans of biological organisms and the duration of the theoretical Von Neumann probe mission.
It seems unlikely biological organisms with short lifespans would be motivated to launch a Von Neumann probe that would not complete its galactic exploration mission for several million years.
Also, Von Neumann probes need to limit their landing sites to locations where they can gather the necessary resources to build replicas. However, if a probe lands on a planet that has an intelligent civilization the local inhabitants may attempt to stop or veto the probe's mining and manufacturing operations.

Tic Tacs and Dual Track Hypersonic Research? by the SETI Nuggets Editor, June 6, 2021
I believe Tic Tac UAPs are manufactured by ETs, not by foreign powers. Without reiterating the Tic Tac's versatile aerodynamic ET capabilities, here is another reason that evidences Tic Tacs are from ETs not terrestrial manufacturers.
This recent article in Science, gives an overview of US, China, and Russia progress in hypersonic technologies.
‘National pride is at stake.’ Russia, China, United States race to build hypersonic weapons, Sciencemag, Jan. 8, 2020
"Now, DOD is leading a new charge, pouring more than $1 billion annually into hypersonic research. Competition from ambitious programs in China and Russia is a key motivator. Although hype and secrecy muddy the picture, all three nations appear to have made substantial progress in overcoming key obstacles, such as protecting hypersonic craft from savage frictional heating. Russia recently unveiled a weapon called the Kinzhal, said to reach Mach 10 under its own power, and another that is boosted by a rocket to an astonishing Mach 27. China showed off a rocket-boosted hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) of its own, the Dongfeng-17, in a recent military parade. The United States, meanwhile, is testing several hypersonic weapons."
My Comments
Does it make sense for a state to invest in technology at a low level of capability if they have access to the engineering behind the Tic Tacs? I doubt a state would hide a Tic Tac building program by implementing a dual track low level research program alongside a Tic Tac assembly line.
Conclusion
A state researching hypersonic technologies at an ordinary level of progress suggests that state did not manufacture the Tic Tac UAPs.
Also Tic Tacs owned by foreign adversaries should be trackable from their foreign origin and back. They also should not "buzz" their country of origin which should be trackable by satellites.
I am reasonably sure the Tic Tac UAPs are manufactured by ETs. We will leave that to the scientific method.

Estimating Flight Characteristics of Anomalous Unidentified Aerial Vehicles, September 25, 2019
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7514271/
"Several Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) encountered by military, commercial, and civilian aircraft have been reported to be structured craft that exhibit ‘impossible’ flight characteristics. We consider a handful of well-documented encounters, including the 2004 encounters with the Nimitz Carrier Group off the coast of California, and estimate lower bounds on the accelerations exhibited by the craft during the observed maneuvers. Estimated accelerations range from almost 100g to 1000s of gs with no observed air disturbance, no sonic booms, and no evidence of excessive heat commensurate with even the minimal estimated energies."
"These unidentified craft typically exhibit anomalous flight characteristics, such as traveling at extremely high speeds, changing direction or accelerating at extremely high rates, and hovering motionless for long periods of time. Furthermore, these craft appear to violate the laws of physics in that they do not have flight or control surfaces, any visible means of propulsion apparently violating Newton’s Third Law, and can operate in multiple media, such as space (low Earth orbit), air, and water without apparent hindrance, sonic booms, or heat dumps"
"The nature, origin, and purpose of these UAVs are unknown. It is also not known if they are piloted, controlled remotely, or autonomous. It has been made clear by U.S. officials that if these craft were hostile, then they would pose a serious threat [4]. If some of these UAVs are of extraterrestrial origin, then it would be important to assess the potential threat they pose. More interestingly, these UAVs have the potential to provide new insights into aerospace engineering and other."
"Assuming that any one of the cases we examine is based on accurate reports, we show that the UAVs exhibit unreasonably high accelerations ranging from 100g to well over 5000g."
"The observed flight characteristics of these craft are consistent with the flight characteristics required for interstellar travel, i.e., if these observed accelerations were sustainable in space, then these craft could easily reach relativistic speeds within a matter of minutes to hours and cover interstellar distances in a matter of days to weeks, proper time."
"This does not rule out the possibility that these UAVs have been developed by governments, organizations, or individuals on Earth, but it suggests that these UAVs and the technologies they employ may be of extraterrestrial origin."
"That being said, it should be strongly emphasized that proving that something is extraterrestrial is extremely difficult, even if one had a craft in hand. One might imagine that the presence of unidentifiable, or incomprehensible, technology would constitute potential evidence. However, it would not rule out the fact that it could have been created by someone on Earth."
"Such a craft accelerating at a constant 1000g for half of the trip and decelerating at the same rate for the remaining half would reach Proxima Centuri within 5 days’ ship time due to the fact that it would have been traveling at relativistic speeds for most of the trip . However, for those of us on Earth, or anyone on Proxima Centuri, the trip would take over four years. "
My Comments
The research says: "The observed flight characteristics of these craft are consistent with the flight characteristics required for interstellar travel". If the UAPs in the research, which includes the 2004 encounters with the Nimitz Carrier Group, have interstellar origins and capabilities the aircraft were manufactured by ETs.
If a terrestrial foreign power has Tic Tac capabilities, and the US ruled itself out, those capabilities could have been acquired using one of two development paths: 1) Natural, organic scientific progress leading to that level of skills, or 2) The foreign power cloned the Tic Tac technology.
In my opinion, the Tic Tac UAPs exhibit the presence of unidentifiable, or incomprehensible technology which is according to the article, evidence of ET origins.

"American intelligence officials have found no evidence that aerial phenomena witnessed by Navy pilots in recent years are alien spacecraft, but they still cannot explain the unusual movements that have mystified scientists and the military, according to senior administration officials briefed on the findings of a highly anticipated government report."
"OK, so, based on that information, we know that:"
1) "There's no evidence that the various UFO sightings over the years are aliens."
2) "The US government has no idea what these aircraft, in fact, are."
My Comments
The scope of the 'Advanced Aerial Threats' section in the Intelligence Authorization Act For Fiscal Year 2021.
"Therefore, the Committee directs the DNI, in consultation with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of such other agencies as the Director and Secretary jointly consider relevant, to submit a report within 180 days of the date of enactment of the Act, to the congressional intelligence and armed services committees on unidentified aerial phenomena (also known as ``anomalous aerial vehicles''), including observed airborne objects that have not been identified."
The NY Times text erroneously defines the scope of the UFO investigation to Navy pilots witnessing phenomena:
"American intelligence officials have found no evidence that aerial phenomena witnessed by Navy pilots in recent years are alien spacecraft."
According to the legislation, the scope includes the DoD and military branches, which is much broader than Navy pilots. And the NY Times use of the words "witnesses by Navy pilots" intentionally ignores data obtained from radars and other sensors from a carrier group: land, sea, and air.
Conclusion
When the Senate report is released later in June 2021, I hope the scientific method is used by reputable laboratories in government, the private sector, and academia nationally and internationally.
I know defense officials in various countries such as Canada, Israel, and the UK have expressed the opinion based on the military and scientific data available to them that ETs and ET manufactured aircraft exist.
In my opinion, if Pres Biden knows of classified information evidencing ETs and says to the public there are no ET manufactured aircraft, his political position is not tenable. Pres Biden cannot say to the public there's no evidence of ETs and know that is a false statement.
Added June 4, 2021
It appears that before the US Senate Intelligence Committee declassified report is released a FOI request says no evidence of ETs.
My previous comments: April 5, 2021, see: How Astronomers Co-opted SETI .
"The last bastion of the SETI paradigm shift will likely be something like this: OK we concede UAPs exist. That doesn't prove they are manufactured or piloted by ETs.
If UAPs have aeronautical capabilities beyond what aircraft built by the US, or any other nation on Earth, have that will in the rational minds of almost all non-biased SETI researchers logically point to ETs as the UAPs source. Not US, Russian, or Chinese then what sources are there?"
My Comments June 4, 2021
1. I do not expect any useful or truthful data from FOI requests, however I do expect honesty from the US Senate Intelligence Committee. See Freedom of Information .
2. If the US government wants to take the position UAPs have aeronautical capabilities beyond aircraft built by the US, or any other nation on Earth, and the UAP behaviors defy the known rules of physics, and that evidence does not provide proof for ET origin that's OK with me. I would characterize that position as unproductive and ridiculous.
This is commonly known as the duck test: If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
3. If after the Senate Intelligence Committee report is released later in June 2021, Pres Biden supports the "no evidence of ETs position" I believe people within and out of the US government will publish photos and other strong evidence of ET life and UAPs.
4. In my opinion, if Pres Biden knows there has been ET contact and he conceals or lies about it to the public or uses the cover of classified material, his position in office will not be politically viable. Pres Biden has often criticized former Pres Trump for living in an alternate reality.

In my opinion, Chris Mellon has more credibility and overall aerospace intelligence knowledge than astronomers in discussions about UAPs in US airspace and near Earth's surface.
Matters concerning the Moon, Mars, outer space I would say the astronomers have greater expertise.

Thanks to Trump-era covid relief bill, a UFO report may soon be public and it’ll be big, ex-official says, The Washington Post, March 23, 2021
"It also dealt with UFOs."
"The legislation, which President Donald Trump signed into law, was a bureaucratic nesting doll that ran more than 5,500 pages and contained the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021, which itself carried an unusual provision in its “committee comment” section, beneath the understated heading “Advanced Aerial Threats.”
"The stipulation mandates that the director of national intelligence work with the secretary of defense on a report detailing everything the government knows about unidentified flying objects — known in agency lingo as “unidentified aerial phenomena” or “anomalous aerial vehicles.”
"It must be made public, and when it is, it will be big, former intelligence director John Ratcliffe said in a recent interview."
“Frankly, there are a lot more sightings than have been made public,” Ratcliffe told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Friday."
"The report must include “detailed analysis of unidentified aerial phenomena data and intelligence” gathered by the Office of Naval Intelligence, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force and the FBI, the provision reads."
"It also calls for “a detailed description of an interagency process” that will ensure that data can be gathered and analyzed across the federal government. The report could document sightings from “all over the world,” Ratcliffe said."
“There are instances where we don’t have good explanations for some of the things that we’ve seen,” he added. “And when that information becomes declassified, I’ll be able to talk a little bit more about that.”

This video presents a lucid opinion about UAPs discussing possible explanations without offering any conclusions. He is another person who referred to the book: Flatland.
My Comments
Dimensions is not my go-to explanation for the UAPs. Sure the Tic Tacs look like projections or shadows but the military sensors say they are tangible.
I believe that people place too much worth in Einsteinian physics. My speculation is ETs have developed a way to travel faster than light.
Also the video presenter opines ET visitations as an explanation for the UAPs is improbable because humans have broadcast radio waves for only about a hundred years.
That erroneously suggests ETs would be unable to survey Earth with its valuable water and atmosphere from their ET location for perhaps billions of years, not a hundred years. Broadcasting radio-waves is not essential for a distant ET civilization to determine Earth is a valuable target for ET explorations, or colonization, even if the indigenous life was at that time only non-broadcasting microbes or dinosaurs.

What Trump, Obama and Clinton Have Said About UFOs, Newsweek, May 19, 2021
https://www.newsweek.com/what-trump-obama-clinton-have-said-about-ufos-1592844
Pres Bill Clinton:
"No, as far as I know, an alien spacecraft did not crash in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947," he said, but added: "and Ryan, if the United States Air Force did recover alien bodies, they didn't tell me about it, either, and I want to know."
Pres Bill Clinton is now trying a personal coverup saying he was denied the UFO data access he requested on Roswell. That's ridiculous because he was aware he was at the apex of the classified material organization.
Pres Obama:
"Former President Obama was more direct about UFOs in comments on Monday, though he didn't provide any information that he might have received during his years in office from 2009 to 2017."
"What is true, and I'm actually being serious here, is that there is footage and records of objects in the skies that we don't know exactly what they are," Obama said on CBS'sThe Late Late Show with James Corden."
"We can't explain how they move, their trajectory," he said. "They did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so I think that people still take seriously, trying to investigate and figure out what that is."

New footage shows UFOs swarming US Navy ship, Fox News, May 28, 2021
My Comments
SpaceX Starlight satellites move across the sky as a linear train of objects sometimes described as a string of pearls or a constellation of satellites. The swarm in this Fox News post is non-linear in form and behavior so probably not from SpaceX light pollution.
There are several online SpaceX tracking websites that could eliminate the SpaceX possibility.
That leaves the usual explanations: US technology, foreign technology, spurious refelections, clouds, dust, observation balloons, UAPs, etc.
I don't have the expertise to take guesses about what appears in radar screens, heat sensors, etc. I hope the June 2021 UFO reveal clears up some of these questions.

He said the sightings have happened “every day for at least a couple years” and has three explanations: top-secret U.S. technology, foreign spying devices, or something not from this planet."
“The highest probability is it’s a threat-observation program,” said the pilot, adding: “If these were tactical jets from another country that were hangin’ out up there, it would be a massive issue. But because it looks slightly different, we’re not willing to actually look at the problem in the face. We’re happy to just ignore the fact that these are out there, watching us every day.”

The Corruption of Science, May 25, 2021
It may be that one or more federal agency has obstructed the release of scientific facts on UAPs. The existence of UAPs if manufactured by ETs not humans, answers the question: Are we alone in the universe?
Traditional precepts of science are being tested by ignorance and bias. Some people do not believe in climate change, others fancy it is wise not to wear a COVID mask and get vaccinated. School curricula will have to be overhauled and academic textbooks will have to be updated. UAPs that defy the laws of physics will require the laws of known physics to be changed.
As the truth is unbundled, we will see which agencies, if any, classified UAP facts hiding this information from the public.
The US Senate, DoD, NASA, and others have their rules on what can be classified, by whom, for what reasons, at what level of secrecy, by which marking formalities, (shades of Hillary - not marked as secret), and durations, etc.
Why does NASA search for microbes on Mars or Jupiter's moons when there are UAPs with advanced technologies and science buzzing Naval carriers?
Updated May 25, 2021
US Presidents Obama, Clinton, Bush, and Trump may try to pretend they were honest to the public about the UAP evidence, May 24, 2021.
NASA will have a credibility challenge. NASA may tell the public they were ignorant about the military and civilian pilots' evidence of UFOs (i.e. No knowledge) or that the UAP evidence was a classified topic. I think science can not be classified.
NASA is looking for life on Mars and on exoplanets. If NASA knew about the UAPs buzzing military installations here on Earth, it will show NASA should not be trusted. NASA lied to the public and they lied to all professional astronomers.
This is an example of current NASA research:
NASA Study: To Find an Extraterrestrial Civilization, Pollution Could Be the Solution, February 10, 2021
"If there’s an advanced extraterrestrial civilization inhabiting a nearby star system, we might be able to detect it using its own atmospheric pollution, according to new NASA research."
NASA: "Are we alone in the universe? So far, the only life we know of is right here on our planet Earth. But we’re looking."
NASA: "How will we find life?"
NASA: "Life might turn up in our own neighborhood: beneath the Martian surface, perhaps, or in the dark, subsurface oceans of Jupiter's moon, Europa. Or maybe the dream of the ages will come true, and we'll eavesdrop on the communications of extraterrestrial civilizations. We might even capture evidence of "technosignatures," or traces of technology (think smog)."
NASA: "Barring these strokes of luck, however, the job will be much harder. Light will be the key – light from the atmospheres of exoplanets, split up into a rainbow spectrum that we can read like a bar code. This method, called transit spectroscopy, would provide a menu of gases and chemicals in the skies of these worlds, including those linked to life."

Verified UAPs flying around Earth into restricted areas is not consistent with the above NASA verbiage.

Mark Warner is the current senior US Senator from Virginia and chair of the US Senate Intelligence Committee.
Senator Mark Warner presumably has access to classified material on UAPs.
In the brief interview, he appears to say the UAPs are probably manufactured by foreign powers, not ETs.
In my opinion, if NORAD tracks UAPs buzzing foreign military installations those UAPs are likely not manufactured by those countries.
When the unclassified UAP report is issued this June 2021, it is probable foreign powers will provide their opinions as to the origins, capabilities, and goals of the UAPs.
US Senator Marco Rubio and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Chris Mellon have both clearly stated the UAPs are not manufactured by the US. Elon Musk Shares Plan for ‘Multiplanetary’ Life, Building 1,000 Starships in 10 Years, The Science Times, April 16, 2021
"The fascination of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for Mars, according to recent reports, is well-documented . For the first time, he spoke about wanting a 'multiplanetary' life on the Red Planet."
"1,000 Starships in 10 Years"
"On top of what Musk mentioned about wanting life to be 'multi-planetary,' SpaceX also hoped to construct 1,000 Starships in 10 years. These are the reusable spaceships being developed by the South Texas-based company."
"Musk opened up about how he divided his riches between his plans for Earth and Mars. He also tweeted that about 50 percent of his money is intended to address problems on Earth, and a half to support the establishment of a self-sustaining city on Mars. "
My Comments
Elon Musk passionately believes there is an imperative for humans to become multiplanetary. If a disaster occurs such as a large solar flare, an asteroid impact, or a world war using weapons of mass destruction, humans would survive on the backup planet. Elon Musk's preference for a backup planet is Mars.
How about 'boring' a mile deep city in Earth, why Mars? When humans walk the surface of Mars they will probably start digging into the soil.
If SpaceX can launch 1,000 Starships in 10 years think what ETs could accomplish in a larger time frame such as millions or billions of years.
As a conjecture, ETs may agree with Musk's logic and that's why UFOs visit Earth. The ETs are looking for protection against their habitat undergoing a cataclysmic incident. Their solution is to become multiplanetary ETs.

My Comments
If the 'Mufon' top 10 list shows the total number of sightings per state they should normalize the data by dividing each entry by state population.

My Comments
For me eyewitness reports have insufficient probative value to convince me UFOs exist. Yes, reports on the same incident made by dozens of witnesses with military experience weighs more heavily than a report by a group of people camping out in a forest.
I hope the US Congressional June 2021 show and tell on UFOs will include measurements by the best land, sea, and air radar, satellites, and other sensors. We always read in the news comments like this: The US satellites can read the text on a pack of cigarettes, or they can spot the numbers on a car's license plates from orbit.
As SETI scientists get shunted to the side because they are on the wrong side of a paradigm shift that has ad nauseum repeated the mantra of the Drake equation the tic tacs will zoom by their office windows and arrays of radio telescopes.

He described vessels flying at 11,000 miles-per-hour and being able to turn “instantly.” Providing a comparison, he explained, for our most advanced jets going at the same speed, “if you wanted to make a right-hand turn, it would take you about half the state of Ohio to do it.”
"He also detailed Spielberg-worthy operational capabilities that fall into the realm of “transmedium travel.” Elizondo explained that the eye-popping vessels can fly 50-feet above the Earth’s surface or 80,000 feet in the sky and even submerge underwater without a compromise in performance: “When you see that, you recognize you are dealing with a technology more advanced than ours.”
My Comments
I have nothing to do with politics and don't like the unproductive red and blue kerfuffle. That said, in my opinion if Trump declassified the UFO files before he left office I think he would have easily won re-election.
Trump was a master of the photo opportunity. Consider the picture of Trump in a US government storehouse stroking and examining a shiny, metallic UFO like a mechanic on the show Counting Cars licking his chops over their garage's latest find.
Trump had an easily winning hand and blew it. Perhaps he did not get requisite permissions for a UFO reveal by the ranking ET members of the Galactic Federation.

"As we have said before, to maintain operations security and to avoid disclosing information that may be useful to potential adversaries, DOD does not discuss publicly the details of either the observations or the examinations of reported incursions into our training ranges or designated airspace, including those incursions initially designated as UAP," Gough said.
My Comments
Nothing in this news item rises to a level worth commenting on. In the CNN video there's an almost impossible to see triangle shape moving slowly.
From the triangular shape we can conjecture it is an autonomous pizza delivery hyper-drone. The ETs ordered, though it is secret for operational reasons, so don't tell anyone, mushrooms with extra cheese. Don't forget to give the galactic delivery UAP a tip in galactic bit coin. The federation is eagerly waiting for that pie. There's nothing comparable to a NYC slice.

Comments on Senator Rubio's TMZ Interview on UAPs, March 27, 2021
Thinking about the TMZ interview on UAPs by Senator Marco Rubio, he touched upon several subjects:
UAPs exist. The Senator expressed certainty on that point.
The Senator does not know if UAPs are manufactured by humans or ETs. Still holding out on the question: Are we alone in the universe? When Russia and China are ruled out as manufacturers of the UAPs that leaves only ETs. Deal with it.
Senator Rubio does not say he knows ETs as a life form are inside the craft. This can mean the pilots are computer systems or a biological and computer blend. Possibly, the details about the UAP pilots will be classified. If UAP pilots have not exited from their spacecraft and introduced themselves to humans, or if UAPs haven't crash landed on Earth details about the UAP pilots are unknown.
The Senator says UAP technology is more advanced than human's. He bases his conclusion on the idea if UAPs traveled to Earth they are more advanced than humans who don't have the capability to traverse the universe.
Different types of UAPs may have different origins and UAPs may employ different levels of engineering capabilities. The UAP technologies might differ by billions of years of technological development.
Marco Rubio did not address the mission/s of the UAPs. If there are different types of UAPs from varying origins they probably have varying requirements.
For example: The UAPs might be Von Neumann probes. That is a theoretical design to explore the universe by launching self-replicating spacecraft that will grow and spread throughout the galaxy exponentially. See my Explanation 008 in the Fermi Paradox.
Finally, I hope Senator Rubio has ruled out attempting to force the UAPs to land. Could be the UAPs are spoiling for a fight and would consider being attacked sufficient justification for cleansing the Earth of humans and conquering Earth for their own.
In my opinion, it is not a healthy sign UAPs are circling military bases instead of presenting an unequivocal message such as landing on the White House front lawn.
Senator Marco Rubio Says We Need To ID UFOs Flying Over Military Bases, TMZ Magazine, March 23, 2021
https://www.tmz.com/2021/03/23/senator-marco-rubio-ufos-military-installations-aliens/
“Marco Rubio is worried as hell about unidentified flying objects buzzing over military bases and he's on board with the government getting to the bottom of it.”
"We got the U.S. Senator from Florida out Monday at Reagan National Airport and asked him about UFOs and aliens. Our intent was a lighthearted convo, but Rubio got dead-ass serious about the potential danger the U.S. faces from unidentified aircraft flying over our military installations."
"His argument's simple ... we don't know what's flying above our military bases -- or our not-so-friendly skies, for that matter -- and his colleagues on the Senate Committee on Intelligence need to figure it out because "maybe it's another country, and that would be bad news too."
My Comments
This is an extraordinary interview on UFOs by Marco Rubio who is a US Senator from Florida and member of the US Senate Intelligence committee.
US Senator Rubio knows, apparently with certainty, that UAPs are “buzzing” US military bases. The Senator does not know who built them. It seems to me the choices are: Russia, China, or ETs.
If US Intel similarly show UAPs are “buzzing” Russia and China military installations, we can rule out Russia and China leaving ETs as the likely owners of the UAPs.
False flag ops by US, Russia, or China hoaxing to be wild and crazy ETs is a possibility but we rule out those improbable scenarios.
I have opined in the past there is no reason to assume UFOs abide by the Star Trek Prime Directive. Did Commanders Kirk or Picard “buzz” any civilization using the Starship USS Enterprise?
Upcoming Pentagon report will detail ‘difficult to explain’ UFO sightings, NY Post, March 21, 2021
https://nypost.com/2021/03/21/pentagon-report-will-detail-difficult-to-explain-ufo-sightings/
"A forthcoming government report will detail a number of “difficult to explain” UFO sightings, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said in a recent interview."
"Ratcliffe, the top intelligence official under former President Donald Trump, was asked about about incidents involving unidentified flying objects on Fox News Friday."
“There are a lot more sightings than have been made public,” he told host Maria Bartiromo. “Some of those have been declassified.”
“And when we talk about sightings,” Ratcliffe continued, “we are talking about objects that have been seen by Navy or Air Force pilots, or have been picked up by satellite imagery that frankly engage in actions that are difficult to explain.”
“Movements that are hard to replicate that we don’t have the technology for. Or traveling at speeds that exceed the sound barrier without a sonic boom.”
"His remarks came several months after the Pentagon declassified three well-known UFO videos, acknowledging that the footage was shot by US Navy pilots."
In the interview, Ratcliffe said the sightings, which have been reported across the globe, extend beyond “just a pilot or just a satellite, or some intelligence collection.”
“Usually we have multiple sensors that are picking up these things … some of these are unexplained phenomenon, and there is actually quite a few more than have been made public,” he said.
The new Pentagon report is expected to be released by June 1."

There is no requirement to make the report public. My guess is there will be social pressure to make the information public. The information about UFOs should never have been hidden from the public. I am looking forward to honesty by the government. It would be a stark change from the current status quo.
Neil Degrasse Tyson Weighs in on Browns QB Baker Mayfield's UFO Sighting, Fox Sports, March 6, 2021
"Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson joined Colin Cowherd on Friday to discuss the hot topic of outer space trending on social media after Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield tweeted about an alleged UFO sighting."
"According to Tyson, what Mayfield saw was likely a type of meteor called a bolide."
My Comments
As far as I can tell, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson did not view first-hand the event reported by QB Baker Mayfield. His reasoning is based on "hearsay". QB Baker Mayfield reported viewing a UFO and Neil deGrasse Tyson opined on the probable cause of the sighting using second-hand verbal testimony from QB Mayfield not using an actual first-hand scientific observation.
Neil deGrasse Tyson also uses a logical fallacy called "hasty generalization" by reasoning from a generalization to an exceptional case. The fallacy is many sighted UFOs are actually meteors so what Baker Mayfield saw was also a meteor. This hasty generalization fallacy allows someone to brush aside exceptional cases without the benefit of applying scientific procedures.

"Baker Reagan Mayfield (born April 14, 1995) is an American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL)."
My Comments
Cleveland Browns Baker Reagan Mayfield’s observation requires further confirmation. Two people witnessed the event and there were no pics. However, as an NFL QB he is well trained to spot a moving object, player and football, moving quickly in real-time and make an identifying judgement instantaneously.
I am glad by instinct he told the truth publicly instead of lying by instinct publicly which is what governments and the majority of researchers do. I think it is past time for honesty which would be a refreshing strategic pivot.
To Qualify as 'Scientific,' Evidence Has to Be Reproducible, Scientific American, Avi Loeb, March 1, 2021
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/to-qualify-as-scientific-evidence-has-to-be-reproducible/
Professor Loeb: "In various conversations with reporters leading to the publication of my new book, Extraterrestrial, I encountered difficulties getting across one essential aspect of the scientific process. Science relies on reproducibility of results. In order to believe a phenomenon, it must be possible to reproduce it as an outcome of similar circumstances."
My Comments
Typically a discussion about the scientific method talks about the need for an experiment to be reproducible by independent teams of researchers. In Dr Loeb's article, he shifts the goal posts and without specifically mentioning 'reproducible experiments' defines reproducible, in perhaps a bespoke manner, as astronomers need to wait for another interstellar visitor and then duplicate the original findings.
Consider this scenario: A UFO lands in a meadow and the only person nearby is a professional nature photographer carrying five high-quality digital cameras. The door of the UFO opens, and 5 LGMs walk down a flight of stairs, and then begin to dance in a circle and sing festive songs. The photographer captures hundreds of high-quality images using all of her cameras. The LGMs re-enter their spacecraft, the door closes, and the UFO flies away never to return to Earth. The UFO was a singleton in our galaxy, with a one-off landing on Earth, and the UFO took off with the now boisterous LGMs shouting - hasta la vista baby!
There was no experiment performed and no possible reproducibility. The photographer shows the HD pictures of the saucer and LGMs to her friends and they say the pics are awesome. Other photographers and expert forensic scientists examine the digital images and agree the images have not been altered. In fact, they are spot on clear HD images of a UFO and LGMs dancing in a meadow.
Does the lack of an experiment and no reproducibility mean there is no high confidence possible for a conclusion the images show a UFO and LGMs? Evidence has to be reproducible?
FBI Confirms Report of ‘Long, Cylindrical’ UFO ‘Moving Really Fast’ Over New Mexico, Popular Mechanics, February 25, 2021
"American Airlines Flight 2292 was en route from Cincinnati to Phoenix on Sunday afternoon when it came into contact with the mysterious object at approximately 37,000 feet over northeastern New Mexico."
“Do you have any targets up here? We just had something go right over the top of us. I hate to say this, but it looked like a long, cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing—moving really fast right over the top of us.”
"White Sands is approximately 400 miles away from the site of Sunday encounter’s west of Clayton, New Mexico, and it’s unlikely a weapon like a cruise missile could have “gone off the reservation” during a test."
"Even if authorized to fly through military airspace the ATC controllers would say military airspace is cold. If missiles are being tested then a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) would be issued and airspace closed off."
My Comments
In my opinion, either the pilot did not see a tangible object because of environmental conditions, or the pilot did see a flying object but it was a classified military test.
There are not enough publicly disclosed facts in the Popular Mechanics post to draw any conclusions.
"NASA Study: To Find an Extraterrestrial Civilization, Pollution Could Be the Solution", NASA, February 10, 2021
https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/goddard/2021/technosignature
"If there’s an advanced extraterrestrial civilization inhabiting a nearby star system, we might be able to detect it using its own atmospheric pollution, according to new NASA research. The study looked at the presence of nitrogen dioxide gas (NO2), which on Earth is produced by burning fossil fuels but can also come from non-industrial sources such as biology, lightning, and volcanoes."
“On Earth, most of the nitrogen dioxide is emitted from human activity -- combustion processes such as vehicle emissions and fossil-fueled power plants,” said Ravi Kopparapu of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. “In the lower atmosphere (about 10 to 15 kilometers or around 6.2 to 9.3 miles), NO2 from human activities dominate compared to non-human sources. Therefore, observing NO2 on a habitable planet could potentially indicate the presence of an industrialized civilization.” Kopparapu is lead author of a paper on this research accepted by the Astrophysical Journal and published online Tuesday, February 9 in arXiv.
"A possible indication of life, or biosignature, could be a combination of gases like oxygen and methane in the atmosphere. Similarly, a sign of technology on an exoplanet, called a technosignature, could be what’s considered pollution here on Earth -- the presence of a gas that’s released as a byproduct of a widespread industrial process, such as NO2."
My Comments
A biosignature can indicate a planet with lakes, forests, and perhaps no animal life, or jungles with a population of ET dinosaurs. Technosignatures are caused as side effects of industrial processes. For example, pollution released in the atmosphere when a car burns gasoline in an internal combustion engine.
NASA's project, to search for nitrogen dioxide gas (NO2) in the atmosphere of exoplanets appears to rely on an invalid assumption an alien planet will experience a long duration of industrial pollution.
Taking Earth as an example, humans might stop atmospheric pollution soon, or within decades. The time between the start of the human laissez faire Industrial Revolution (circa 1760) to now is approximately 260 years. If ET inhabitants on exoplanets cease polluting their environment after a short period of time, measured in an astronomical context, searching for indications of ETs' industrial wastes will become ineffective to gradually impossible as the ET pollution dissipates.
ETs may also be motivated to curtail their exposure to distant researchers who may want to use their exoplanet's industrial pollution as a technique for gathering SETI data.
See: Active SETI
Conclusion
Searching for technosignatures relies on an assumption that inadvertent effects of industrial processes will exist in an exoplanet for a much longer period of time than probably occurs.

"The differences in reactions across the range of cultural and religious boundaries would be substantial. One possible strategy for development of more comprehensive PDPs is to undertake carefully planned cross-cultural polls and other empirical studies based on analogues in the humanities and history, the social and behavioral sciences, and even science fiction to determine likely reactions."

Why Do We Assume Extraterrestrials Might Want to Visit Us?
Scientific American, by Avi Loeb, January 21, 2021
The Scientific American post describes a few possible explanations for the Fermi Paradox.
1. "It is presumptuous to assume that we are worthy of special attention from advanced species in the Milky Way. We may be a phenomenon as uninteresting to them as ants are to us; after all, when we’re walking down the sidewalk we rarely if ever examine every ant along our path."
2. "Since the dice of life were rolled in billions of other locations within the Milky Way under similar conditions to those on Earth, life as we know it is likely common. If that is indeed the case, some intelligent species may well be billions of years ahead of us in their technological development. When weighing the risks involved in interactions with less-developed cultures such as ours, these advanced civilizations may choose to refrain from contact. The silence implied by Fermi's paradox (“Where is everybody?”) may mean that we are not the most attention-worthy cookies in the jar."
My Comments
The post doesn't cite any references for previous articles on Enrico Fermi's Paradox that have been written by hundreds of astronomers and other scholars.
In fact, I wrote a SETI Nuggets web page a while ago providing reasons that may support the Fermi Paradox:
Fermi Paradox in SETI Nuggets
https://sites.google.com/view/setithinktank/fermi-paradox
Also see:
More Fermi Paradox Explanations
https://sites.google.com/view/setithinktank/fermi-paradox/more-fermi-paradox-explanations
Let's consider Professor Avi Loeb's two comments he believes support lack of ET contact with humans.
1. "We may be a phenomenon as uninteresting to them as ants are to us".
I like ants because they are like self-contained miniature robots that navigate, carry things, and build homes. Entomologists surely like ants and I am nearly certain the US space program would be very happy to find a few ants on the Moon, Mars, or on an asteroid.
I am OK with ants and believe they are incredible from the perspective of advanced biological architecture.
It is presumptive of Avi Loeb to say: "uninteresting to them as ants are to us".
Also ETs might be interested in the underlying land even if they don't care about a bunch of ants.
If a vacationer wants to lunch in a picnic grounds the objective is to use the picnic table, fireplace, sporting areas, and a lake for swimming. The notion ETs won't visit planets because ants aren't interesting enough ignores layered, multiple motivations for ETs to visit far away worlds. The ET goal may be the picnic grounds, not the ants.
2. "some intelligent species may well be billions of years ahead of us in their technological development. When weighing the risks involved in interactions with less-developed cultures such as ours".
If ETs are "billions of years ahead of us in their technological development" it is unlikely ETs themselves are at risk. If the ETs opine the less-developed cultures, that is humans, would be at risk if ETs made contact I don't understand the reasons for that assertion.
ETs might be dangerous or they might leapfrog human knowledge billions of years.
Conclusion
I think SETI research and discoveries should be open and scientists should not provide reasons for governments to censor information about ETs or UFOs. I don't think any visiting ETs, dues paying members of the Galactic Federation, are hiding underground on Mars weighing the risks of interactions with less-developed cultures such as ours. Are all ETs in a pact to follow the Star Trek prime directive?
"In the fictional universe of Star Trek, the Prime Directive (also known as "Starfleet General Order 1", "General Order 1", and the "non-interference directive") is a guiding principle of Starfleet, prohibiting its members from interfering with the internal and natural development of alien civilizations."

It is likely Paul Hellyer the former Canadian Minister of National Defense isn't a gullible individual, however his assertions about the "Galactic Federation" of aliens is unsubstantiated hearsay. In my opinion, the idea aliens are signing contracts with US scientists working on the far side of Mars is ridiculous.
The scientific method should be the arbiter of Mr. Hellyer's claims about UFOs. Surely he could convince a scientist to assemble a scientifically rigorous argument for his views.

Many of the UFO documents probably have been in the public domain for years.
Are the files exclusive of those that remain top secret, secret, and confidential?
Are files redacted hiding a lot of information, that is the good stuff, behind black rectangles?
What were the logical rules for each decision to redact words, phrases, paragraphs, pages, and entire files? Something like, if there are facts on a page proving the existence of UFOs redact them?
Conclusion
If the cache of files is thousands of redacted pages, the files probably include some information about actual ETs and UFOs.
Avi Loeb: Aliens, Black Holes, and the Mystery of the Oumuamua | Lex Fridman Podcast #154, January 13, 2021
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plcc6E-E1uU&ab_channel=LexFridman
This YouTube podcast with Lex Fridman and Avi Loeb is a discussion about science and the Oumuamua discovery.
My Comments
The name of Oumuamua in Hawaiian means "scout" and that is conclusory, not scientifically supported. Maybe Oumuamua is a scout and maybe not - whether it is a scout must be proven scientifically.
Casually surveying the literature on Oumuamua, it seems the reasons some astronomers believe it is alien made are derived from its elongated geometry, unusual powered interstellar trajectory, and speculations about its propulsion technology. Avi Loeb speculates the propulsion system is a variant of a light sail and perhaps not coincidentally professor Loeb is chair of the Breakthrough Starshot project:
https://www.cfa.harvard.edu/~loeb/Loeb_Starshot.pdf
Also see, https://phys.org/news/2018-05-issues-breakthrough-starshot.html
"Breakthrough Starshot is a project launched by backer Yuri Milner two years ago - its aim is to send a spacecraft out of the solar system toward Alpha Centauri by the middle of this century. Most designs for such a spacecraft surround the idea of a light sail and a tiny device to allow for communications. The craft would be powered by a laser array situated on Earth. To reach Alpha Centauri in a reasonable amount of time, the craft will need to travel very fast, close to 20 percent of the speed of light."
In my opinion, describing the possible functionality of Oumuamua is interesting. In the literature, there is speculation Oumuamua is a communications relay. Perhaps that is correct.
My own speculation is Oumuamua may have a bacterial payload to plant life on distant planets, a theory called panspermia. The current technological level of space science is almost high enough for capture of objects such as Oumuamua. In the future, scientists may capture a similar object, open it, and in a controlled environment decide whether to use the interstellar biological matter. In other cases, if the Oumuamua-like object crashes into a barren planet with a favorable environment, that planet may be terraformed with the interstellar alien life.
Panspermia, WIkipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panspermia
"Panspermia (from Ancient Greek πᾶν (pan) 'all', and σπέρμα (sperma) 'seed') is the hypothesis that life exists throughout the Universe, distributed by space dust, meteoroids, asteroids, comets, planetoids, and also by spacecraft carrying unintended contamination by microorganisms. Distribution may have occurred spanning galaxies, and so may not be restricted to the limited scale of solar systems."
Conclusion
I am not convinced Oumuamua has alien origins.
Trump and UFOs: The Greatest Hits, NY Magazine, Intelligencer, Jan 2, 2021
https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/trump-ufo-moments.html
"Trump, the first sitting president to admit to a briefing on aliens, did so quite casually, suggesting that either the evidence is sparse or, perhaps, he’s constitutionally incapable of paying attention to something that does not directly involve him. Nevertheless, he did display his showman’s flair in promoting this space race, telling George Stephanopoulos that “we’re watching” for aliens, “and you’ll be the first to know.”
"But in the past few decades, several retired military and political figures have come out during their retirements with new information on government research around UFOs, including former CIA directors John Brennan and Roscoe Hillenkoetter, former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Canadian Defense Minister Paul Hellyer. Considering the sense of relaxation Trump clearly feels at Mar-a-Lago — where he has previously discussed matters of national security in the open - it’s not too far-fetched to imagine the ex-president admitting to extraterrestrial life on Earth while enjoying a well-done steak, spilling ketchup and state secrets all over the nice white tablecloth."
My Comments
People in government, such as Trump, have a tendency to be silent on their knowledge about ETs. Why the lack of candor? For the Donald, it could be he determined ETs weren't clubbable and were unlikely to fork over hefty club initiation fees, or spend a lot for vintage beverages in his restaurants.
UFO report set to be released as a result of US emergency relief bill, Sky News, Jan 5, 2021
"A law buried in the 5,600-page emergency relief bill requires the US intel agencies to deliver an unclassified report on UFOs."
"Last week the COVID-19 relief bill was signed by President Trump, committing the country to a $2.3 trillion (£1.7trn) pandemic aid package as positive cases continue to rise."
"Buried within the bill's 5,600 pages were a number of laws with little to do with the coronavirus pandemic, including one requiring the US intelligence services to submit an unclassified report on UFOs to the Senate intelligence committee within 180 days."
COVID-19 bill started a 180-day countdown for UFO disclosures, NY Post, Dec 29, 2020

"The Senate Intelligence Committee, chaired by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), said in the comment that it “directs the [director of national intelligence], in consultation with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of such other agencies … to submit a report within 180 days of the date of enactment of the Act, to the congressional intelligence and armed services committees on unidentified aerial phenomena.”
"The report must address “observed airborne objects that have not been identified” and should include a “detailed analysis of unidentified phenomena data collected by: a. geospatial intelligence; b. signals intelligence; c. human intelligence; and d. measurement and signals intelligence,” the committee said."
My Comments
The NY Post says: "COVID-19 bill started a 180-day countdown for UFO disclosures."
Perhaps other countries will reveal if they have ET artifacts.
Why doesn't the US government open up its warehouses and show the UFOs?
If history is a guide, this round of Rubio's Senatorial dish will not reveal any flying saucers or LGMs. People in government like to keep things classified.
Oumuamua Built by ETs?
A Harvard professor says an alien visited in 2017 and more are coming, NY Post, Jan 2, 2021
https://nypost.com/2021/01/02/a-harvard-professor-says-an-alien-visited-in-2017/
"When the first sign of intelligent life first visits us from space, it won’t be a giant saucer hovering over New York. More likely, it will be an alien civilization’s trash. Avi Loeb, the chair of Harvard’s Department of Astronomy, believes he’s already found some of that garbage."
"In his upcoming book, “Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth” (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), out Jan. 26, the professor lays out a compelling case for why an object that recently wandered into our solar system was not just another rock but actually a piece of alien technology."
"The space object was dubbed Oumuamua (pronounced “oh moo ah moo ah”), which is Hawaiian for roughly “scout.”
"As space travelers go, it was relatively small at just about 100 yards long, but it was a big deal in the scientific community."
"For starters, it was the first interstellar object ever detected inside our solar system. Judging from the object’s trajectory, astronomers concluded it was not bound by the sun’s gravity — which suggested it was just traveling through."
"No crisp photos could be taken, but astronomers were able to train their telescopes on the object for 11 days, collecting reams of other data."
Let’s Search for Alien Probes, Not Just Alien Signals, Scientific American, Avi Loeb, Dec 22, 2020

"My forthcoming book, titled 'Extraterrestrial' tells the story of the discovery of Oumuamua, meaning “scout” in the Hawaiian language, by the Pan-STARRS facility in Hawaii on October 2017. As the first interstellar object detected near Earth from outside the solar system, it looked weird, unlike any comet or asteroid seen before within the solar system. The book details the unusual properties of Oumuamua: it had a flattened shape with extreme proportions—never seen before among comets or asteroids, as well as an unusual initial velocity and a shiny appearance. It also lacked a cometary tail, but nevertheless exhibited a push away from the sun in excess of the solar gravitational force."
Oumuamua, NASA, December 19, 2019

"The first confirmed object from another star to visit our solar system, this interstellar interloper appears to be a rocky, cigar-shaped object with a somewhat reddish hue. The object, named Oumuamua by its discoverers, is up to one-quarter mile (400 meters) long and highly-elongated - perhaps 10 times as long as it is wide."
Interstellar Asteroid FAQs, NASA, Nov. 20, 2017

"The discovery of interstellar object 1I/2017 U1 is the first detection of a celestial object in our solar system that originated from another solar system, and the shape of the object itself looks very different than any asteroid or comet we’ve seen in our own solar system."

Strange interstellar object could be a shard from a dead planet, National Geographic, April 13, 2020
"Oumuamua, the first object known to have come from beyond the solar system, might have gotten its oblong shape when a planet was shredded by a faraway star."
Oumuamua, Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CA%BBOumuamua
"It is unknown how long the object has been traveling among the stars. The Solar System is likely the first planetary system that ʻOumuamua has closely encountered since being ejected from its birth star system, potentially several billion years ago. It has been speculated that the object may have been ejected from a stellar system in one of the local kinematic associations of young stars (specifically, Carina or Columba) within a range of about 100 parsecs, some 45 million years ago."

"Abraham "Avi" Loeb is an Israeli-American theoretical physicist who works on astrophysics and cosmology. Loeb is the Frank B. Baird Jr. Professor of Science at Harvard University. He is Chair of the Advisory Committee for the Breakthrough Starshot project – which aims to launch lightweight spacecraft towards the nearest stars using a powerful laser (since 2016), founding director of Harvard's Black Hole Initiative (since 2016), and director of the Institute for Theory and Computation (ITC) (since 2007) within the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He was the Chair in the history of the Harvard Astronomy department (2011-2020)."
My Comments
There seems to be a consensus Oumuamua has interstellar origins. Whether the object was produced by natural forces or ETs is up for debate.
The Oumuamua is not returning to our solar system so testing alternative hypotheses cannot be done on the same object.
Israel’s Former Space Security Chief Claims Aliens Exist, And Trump Knows, NBC News, Dec 9, 2020

Haim Eshed, Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haim_Eshed
"Haim Eshed born 1933 is a retired brigadier general in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and former director of space programs for the Israel Ministry of Defense for nearly 30 years. Eshed helped launch spy satellites which he said would help provide high-quality surveillance of Iran. He was also an officer in the Israeli Military Intelligence."
"In 1967 Eshed was awarded the Chief of Staff Citation, the highest non-combat decoration awarded by the IDF. Throughout his career he also received the Israel Defense Prize - the highest civilian defense honor of the State of Israel - three times, but the reasons remain classified."
My Comments
Although the general's statement should be given a slight measure of credence, without him producing scientific facts to support his allegation my T|F meter is at F for he offered no convincing proof.
To the best of my knowledge, the general has not offered to the public even a molecule of evidence to support his galactic claims.

"The Australian Square Kilometer Array Pathfinder (ASKAP), a radio telescope located in outback Western Australia, mapped the galaxies in just 300 hours, or 12.5 days. This is a significant increase from previous surveys, which have taken years."
"The result is a new atlas of the universe, according to Australian science agency CSIRO, which developed and operates the telescope."
The Arecibo Telescope Has Suffered a Fatal Collapse, Smashing It Into Pieces, Science Alert, Dec 1, 2020
https://www.sciencealert.com/the-arecibo-telescope-platform-has-collapsed

NSF begins planning for decommissioning of Arecibo Observatory’s 305-meter telescope due to safety concerns, National Science Foundation, November 20, 2020
https://www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?cntn_id=301674
"Following a review of engineering assessments that found damage to the Arecibo Observatory cannot be stabilized without risk to construction workers and staff at the facility, the U.S. National Science Foundation will begin plans to decommission the 305-meter telescope, which for 57 years has served as a world-class resource for radio astronomy, planetary, solar system and geospace research."
My Comments
Scientists working with the Arecibo telescope are mainly known for their SETI research: SETI@home and Contact.
Perhaps during the absence of Arecibo's inputs, researchers can rethink and improve their search methodology. To the best of my knowledge, scientists working with the Arecibo telescope have eaten mountains of Oreo cookies, but they have not discovered LGMs or a SETI signal.
Second cable breaks at Puerto Rico’s Arecibo telescope, Science Magazine, Nov. 9, 2020
https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/11/second-cable-breaks-puerto-rico-s-arecibo-telescope
"The already battered Arecibo Observatory was hit with another blow on 7 November when one of its 12 main support cables snapped and tore through the radio telescope’s main dish. The incident comes just 3 months after the failure of another cable. Researchers are concerned that increasing stresses on remaining cables could lead to cascading failures and the collapse of the antenna platform that is suspended over the dish."
Arecibo Observatory, Wikipedia
"The Arecibo Observatory is a radio telescope in the municipality of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. As of 2018, the observatory is operated by University of Central Florida, Yang Enterprises and UMET, under cooperative agreement with the US National Science Foundation (NSF). The observatory is the sole facility of the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center (NAIC), which is the formal name of the observatory. From its construction in the 1960s until 2011, the observatory was managed by Cornell University."
My Comments
Many scientists and engineers interact with the Arecibo telescope. Should these recent events have occurred? Perhaps the Arecibo telescope is afflicted with a pod of LGMs.
May 9, 2020 A Word about Those UFO Videos, Scientific American
"And although science communication experts frequently debate the effectiveness of debunking as a strategy, that’s not the source of my reluctance either. It’s because for an astrophysicist like me, there’s very little motivation to do it."
"The real explanation for them is almost certainly going to be something well outside my main area of expertise, which includes cosmic phenomena such as the behavior of dark matter in galaxies and the extreme conditions of the early universe."
My Comments
I do not understand why a scientist would post on a Scientific American blog reasons why she has no motivation to pursue researching a particular subject matter.
In this case information released by the Pentagon on UFO sightings by Navy pilots launched on Super Hornet fighters from the USS Nimitz Aircraft Carrier Strike Group.
Why is a decision not to pursue a research subject on Scientific American? How does a decision not to perform research advance science? Why is it relevant to Scientific American?
