WARNING! Do not enter your fingerprint into the bio-lock. Apple does not need this personal information.
WARNING! Do not 'save' your username/password on the MacBook as it allows anyone to use the device and blame you for those actions.
CAUTION! MacBook chargers are not replaced by district. You will need to go to the APPLE store and purchase a new one.
(Non-APPLE chargers can damage the internal battery of the MacBook and you could be responsible for the MacBook's replacement.)
FWISD MacBooks have been given a basic setup already. You just need to personalize and login with your Microsoft ID, Google ID, and Apple ID provided by district. As it is a district device, please don't load personal logins or IDs. You will be asked to do all sign-ins before leaving with a new device as service is not possible on campus. Remember: no stickers, adhesives, or glues on the devices or cases because of the buy-back program. A slip of paper can be designed and placed between your clear cover and device with name, OS shortcuts, etc.

This just in from Educational Technology . . . MacBook Need to Knows to help you learn all the features of your new device.
Laptops are a teacher's command center both inside and outside of the classroom. It is critical for teachers to have the latest generation of laptops with upgrades focusing on performance features and operating systems. Better laptop performance enables teachers to quickly access and run various tools, such as learning management systems, video communication applications, and graphics-heavy lesson presentations.
Any files on your current laptop will be forfeited after returning the device to the district. You can move your files onto Google Drive or MS OneDrive for secure storage.
Yes, the district's mobile device management team is working on providing a robust software center for Mac similar to the Software Center on Windows.
Google Chrome will be installed on the Macs. The browser selection will be either Safari or Chrome. Firefox will be available for installation if desired.
As part of the FWISD Long Range Technology Plan, all students will receive Mobile Device upgrades. Students attending Elementary or Middle School campuses will receive iPads. Students attending 6-12 Innovation Schools or High Schools will receive MacBook Airs.
The MacBook Airs have a 13.3" physical screen. The device dimensions are 0.16-0.63 x 11.97 x 8.36 inches.
