Tiering of Applications

Diving some more into the applications nuances, lets talk about the Classification of applications, in every organization the applications which are running are classified based on certain parameters such as criticality, availability, confidentiality, etc.

Classification is very much necessary during the initial phase of the application onboarding discussions; since based on the Class which the application fits in, the decisions such as how much compute would be provided, whether HA would be there or not, DR and NDR is applicable or not, what would be the backup policies; all these factors are decided based on the classification or the Tiering of the application, if your organization has a classification from Tier 1 to Tier 5 for applications with Tier 1 being the most critical and Tier 5 being the least critical then you can make decisions for building up the applications with the following parameters:
