These workshops are focused on active workshop building. You will not be able to participate using a smartphone. You will not be watching a webinar or presentation on sites. For that, see the resources on this website linked below. If you would like to attend this workshop series, you must have a class website that you are working on or you must begin one over the course of the workshops upon attending. This is an opportunity to share ideas, present your work, and try actually using the site building and editing tools.

*NB: You do not have to attend all three workshops, nor do you have to attend consecutively. Please note however that jumping in at a later point relies on your having mastered the skills of earlier workshops. All skills can and will not be covered in each workshop! This site remains free and open to all attendees to help you prepare.

*SSO = Single Sign On. They are used for large organizations to aggregate all online services (email, sites, docs, canvas/blackboard, etc. into one overarching system using one email address and password as the key).

They offer a free site design process and then will let you customize the site they build for you. If you want to graduate to the web designer level, you can turn off the free assistance. Email me if you have questions. My teaching portfolio at cnazzaro.com is an example of a wix site.

These are the sites that students made in my fall '18 reading class. The sites were based on the FVR that they had done all semester long, drawing on canvas discussions, journaling, and other sources.

Originally from Cranford, NJ, I left home at 18 to seek my fortunes in Chicago, at the University thereof. After moving to NYC in 2006 (and after a bit of traveling and language study) I came to teaching English as a second language, which I studied at NYU, where I earned a TEFL certificate, and at Hunter College, where I earned my MA in TESOL.

In 2010, I began teaching as an intern at what was then known as the NYU ALI SCPS ESL program, and then I honed my skills in the COPE program at Hunter. Since then, I have taught at ASA, The New School, and The New York Public Library.
