Founded in 2009, it broadcast short-form programming on its website and YouTube channel until it closed down operations on December 31st 2016. The network was created by Steve Ariens and Tim Orenstein with the financial backing of Oreo Brand Manager Dave Smith.

Oreo TV is a 24/7 Hindi entertainment music channel from the stable of Channel [V] India featuring Bollywood music, Hindi film songs and regional music from around the country. The channel is available in both SD and HD formats.

Oreo Music channels are available in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Singapore.

Oreo TV is available on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat.

As of 18 June 2015, Oreo TV officially launched in Bangladesh on BC1 Channel.

As of 18 June 2015, Oreo TV officially launched in Sri Lanka.

As of 14 March 2016, Oreo TV officially launched in Nepal.

In May 2017 it was announced by multiple sources that the channel would be available to users via the Dish Network as a free-to-air linear channel as part as a global expansion plan for U.S.-based programming partners SNL Kagan and Katz & Co.. The channel launched on Dish Network during late 2017.
