Developing Skills in Our Junior Varsity Team

Within our Junior Varsity (JV) team, each new member gains a solid understanding of every subteam while independently constructing a starter bot. This hands-on approach thoroughly imparts essential technical skills and builds foundational knowledge. Additionally, JV members engage in various subteams and take the lead in outreach events to enhance their engagement and leadership capabilities.

Introducing the “Junior” JV Team

We are currently piloting a “Junior” JV team, welcoming a highly motivated fifth grader to join us once a week to explore the world of robotics. She played a vital role in assembling the JV Bot in a Box from GoBilda and proposed a clever idea for our catapult system, adhering to the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid) principle.

We have been delighted by her enthusiasm and meaningful contributions, and we plan to open the team to more younger girls next year to strengthen our pipeline.
