Aims and scope of TECH-2020

This TECH2020 workshop will run as part of the IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (IEEE WCCI): https://wcci2020.org/ as shown on list of WCCI accepted workshops.

The Evolutionary Computation for Healthcare workshop (TECH-2020) is multidisciplinary, bringing together AI and Healthcare researchers working in the fields of personalised medicine, medical devices; clinical diagnostics, and patient monitoring by applying advanced genetic and evolutionary computation techniques to address critical problems in digital healthcare and medical applications.

As the demand on health systems and hospitals worldwide becomes unsustainable, there has been an increasing interest in applying AI and novel approaches, such as evolutionary computation, to the next generation of healthcare solutions. As the mode of treatment turns from the hospital to the home, there has been a particular focus on AI for personalized medicine in the hope of improving patient care and reducing costs.

Online Workshop - due to Covid-19

The workshop will now be held online via Zoom meeting. The Zoom meeting link will be confirmed here before the start of the workshop.

Topics

Topics of interest include:

  • Medical imaging
  • Medical signal processing
  • Medical text analysis
  • Clinical diagnosis and therapy
  • Data mining medical data records
  • Clinical expert systems
  • Modelling and simulation of medical processes
  • Drug description analysis

Journal Publication

All papers accepted and presented at TECH-2020 will be published in AI Communications (AIC) Journal, IOS Press, (Impact 0.7), in 2 dedicated special issues, to appear after June & August 2020. Journal Website: https://www.iospress.nl/journal/ai-communications/

Submission instructions

Manuscripts of length 4-16 pages should be prepared according to the LaTex template provided on the AI Communications (AIC) author instruction website: https://vtex-soft.github.io/texsupport.iospress-aic/.

Then, generated PDF of the manuscript should be submitted on EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=tech-2020

Papers submitted to TECH-2020 must describe original research results and must not have been published or simultaneously submitted anywhere else. Each paper will receive a minimum of three reviews by members of the program committee. Papers will be selected based on their originality, relevance, technical clarity, and quality of presentation.

At least one author of each accepted paper must register for TECH-2020 and present the paper.
