衛生管理の経済的メリットを明らかにする

鳥インフルエンザ、口蹄疫、豚流行性下痢症、豚熱(CSF)といった畜産農場における感染症の発生は、発生農場に甚大な経済的被害を引き起こすだけではなく、時に枝肉価格や加工食品の価格の高騰につながるなど、社会経済に影響を及ぼすこともある。こういった感染症の発生に伴う被害を最小限に抑えるためにも、農場レベルでの衛生対策の導入は非常に重要であるが、衛生対策導入に伴うメリットは非常に見えにくい。そこで、本プロジェクトでは農場における衛生管理の導入に伴う経済的メリットを明らかにすることで、畜産農家の感染症対策導入へとつなげることを目的としています。

Identify the economic benefits of hygiene management.

Outbreaks of infectious diseases on livestock farms, such as avian influenza, foot-and-mouth disease, swine epidemic diarrhea, and swine fever (CSF), not only cause extensive economic damage to the farms where they occur, but also have an impact on the social economy, sometimes leading to higher prices for carcasses and processed foods. In order to minimize the damage caused by such outbreaks, it is very important to introduce hygiene measures at the farm level, but the benefits associated with the introduction of hygiene measures are very difficult to see. Therefore, this project aims to clarify the economic benefits associated with the introduction of hygiene management on farms, which will lead to the introduction of infectious disease control measures by livestock farmers.
