We observed that, as highschoolers, we and a lot of our peers use social media frequently, and some are chronically online with hours of scrolling daily, disrupting sleep, destroying academic productivity, and causing them a lot of stress in the process due to needs for connection and pleasure. This campaign directly targets fixing that, outlining risk factors associated with social media and protective factors, along with strategies to boost mental health while using social media.

We aren’t trying to stop the use of social media, but we are trying to make it more mentally healthy. Social media is a useful tool, and can be beneficial if used right.
