নেটওয়ার্কিং একটা বিশাল সেক্টর । সারা বিশ্বের টেকনোলজি (IT/ICT) দাড়িয়ে আছে এই নেটওয়ার্কিং এর উপরে । একজন Programmer বা Developer হিসাবেও দিনের শেষে আপনাকে প্রোডাকশনে একটা নেটওয়ার্ক Environment এ কাজ করতে হবে। এমনকি আপনার বাসায় যে WiFi লাইনটা আছে, সেটা আসলে একটা হোম নেটওয়ার্ক । সেই হোম নেটওয়ার্কটি একটি লোকাল ISP এর সাথে Connected, লোকাল ISP আবার একটি বড় ISP এর সাথে Connected, বড় ISP আবার IIG এর সাথে Connected, সেই IIG আবার সাবমেরিন ক্যাবল দিয়ে Singapore হয়ে সারা বিশ্বের নেটওয়ার্কিং এর সাথে Connected। বর্তমান সময়ে যত ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্ট ও ক্রেডিট কার্ড হ্যাকিং, সার্ভার হ্যাকিং, মোবাইল হ্যাকিং করে আড়িপাতা সহ টেকনোলজির সবধরনের হ্যাকিং এই নেটওয়ার্কিং এর মাধ্যমেই সংগঠিত হয়ে থাকে। তাই টেকনিক্যাল বা নন-টেকনিক্যাল প্রত্যেকেরই এই নেটওয়ার্কিং জানা প্রয়োজন । তাছাড়া দেশে বিদেশে রয়েছে নেটওয়ার্কিং এর এক বিশাল কর্মক্ষেত্র ।
এখন এই নেটওয়ার্কিং নিয়ে অনেকের অনেক confusion আছে । ইন্ডাস্ট্রিতে আছে CISCO নেটওয়ার্কিং, MikroTik নেটওয়ার্কিং, Juniper নেটওয়ার্কিং, MicroSoft নেটওয়ার্কিং এবং Huawei নেটওয়ার্কিং । আবার বড় পরিসরে যেমন Data Center এ কাজ করতে হলে Linux এবং Security জানতে হবে । এখন স্বভাবতই প্রশ্ন আসে কোনটা শিখব, কিভাবে শুরু করবো এবং কতটুকু শিখব ? একজন দক্ষ নেটওয়ার্ক ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হয়ে কিভাবে ক্যারিয়ার গড়া যায়?
