About the Team

What is FIRST?

The tournament consists of local and regional qualifiers, world championships and FIRST championships, with kick-offs each season introducing the theme and games of the season. After kick-off, the team will design, build, and program the robot, and the team will be encouraged to contact the community through outreach programs and industry connections. A local qualifier will be held to allow the team to participate in the regional qualifier, and from that point on, a regional qualifier will be held to allow the team to participate in the World Championship.

Team Structure

Team 13190 is divided into three divisions: hardware, software and business. These are all managed by the Captain and Co-Captain, who ensure the team is on schedule and delegate tasks to team members.

Hardware:

Hardware members work on prototyping the robot and engineering the physical design, making blueprints in Fusion 360 and conveying ideas in Blender. This team also assembles the robot and tests it for potential physical issues.

Software:

Software members are able to write programs for the robot in Java. These engineers design and encode what we see in the Autonomous and TeleOP phases of the competition. They work closely with hardware to ensure that the code is accurate, precise, and relevant to the bot being built.

Business:

Business members get to plan outreach events, work on budgeting, fundraising, and attracting sponsors for the team. They also work on documentation by writing and formatting the website, engineering portfolio and notebook.
