In 2018, according to the National Fire Protection Agency, almost three of every five home fire deaths resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms (40%) or no smoke alarms that were working (17%). A Smoke Alarm power source can prove to be unreliable.
Smoke alarms are the main way we detect fires before they cause substantial damage. According to the NFPA and U.S. Fire Administration, since 1975, the number of Home Fire deaths were cut nearly in half. Our project is to find a way to design and modify a new way of making sure fire alarm power sources do not fail. We so far have done preliminary research to make sure that our problem is a accurate and actually a problem. With this information, furthering the research and the investigation into fire alarms, we will be able to sufficiently be able to design a way to fix the problem.
