Giacomo received his bachelor degree in Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Naples Federico II. After a master degree in Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Pisa, he completed his PhD in 2017 under the supervision of Dr. Massimo Pasqualetti at the same University. In 2018, he moved to Boston, USA to pursue his postdoctoral training in Dr. Susan Dymecki's lab in the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School, Harvard University. Giacomo started his own group in February 2026 at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neuroscience of Paris, affiliated with Université Paris Cité and the French Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (Inserm).
