We are using a game engine named GoDot as well as the accompanying programming language, GDScript.

GoDot (Our Selection):
Pros:
Already have project built and loaded into GoDot Engine
Lightweight engine, allowing for us to create our basic game without heavy system files
Suited toward 2D, non-intensive game development
Open source and free
Cons:
Have to learn GDScript in order to get the best experience
Limited features and capabilities
Is known to have more bugs than other game engines
Limited documentation and tutorials
Unity:
Pros:
Versatile and offers Cross platform support
A popular engine with a larger amount of interrogations
A large amount of documentation
Large Asset store
Cons:
Would have to convert project into a unity project
License cost

Appcelerator’s Titanium:
Pros:
Able to use Javascript with the engine
Cross platform support
Web-orentied
Cons:

LumberYard:
Pros:
Very flexible
Beginner friendly

Not fully mature/known to have bugs
We chose GoDot, mostly because we are continuing a project that is built in GoDot. We would consider changing gaming engines, but in our understanding, it would be too much of a change, and GoDot is a pretty solid engine all-in-all.

Our client only requires that we keep pursuing development of the mobile application.
