Camp Description
June 25 - July 8, 2018
Appropriate for independent racers from 12-18 years, the mission of Team Excel Ski Camp is to help every athlete improve and enjoy the sport of skiing and ski racing. Grouped by age and ability, athletes work with their coaches on the technical and tactical needs appropriate to their ski level, with gate training and video analysis for all athletes. (For younger athletes, learn more here.)
Ski training is in the morning while the glacial snow is hard. Afternoon activities are selected for regeneration and fun, as well as for their function in addressing important athletic needs of ski racing, such as a sense of balance, body awareness, comfort with speed, core strength, etc. Regeneration sports include whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, trampolining, dryland training, volley ball, and soccer. We take time to explore the Les Deux Alpes area through our activities and through hikes to some of the special local sites. We mix in a good dose of afternoon and day-off activities that are just for fun, such as go-carting, paintball, alpine sliding, archery, and more!
We ski 10 days, with a day off every 4-5 days, depending on weather and what we determine best serves the campers' energy levels. See the sample daily schedule below for a sense of how the days generally flow. We post photos and frequent updates on our Team Excel Facebook page to keep parents in touch and connected with all that we are doing! We welcome parents of younger campers to attend the camp and ski with us, or take part in our afternoon activities and tours. Please contact us if you are interested in this option.
For more information, check out our Team Excel Facebook page for photos and videos from previous camps. If you would like to speak to a parent of a Team Excel camper, we would be happy to provide you contact information of a parent/s who can answer your questions.
