Earlier this year, Josh D'Amaro was not pleased with how the Beyond Big Thunder plans' scope was going to be. He asked Imagineers to dream "bigger and bolder ideas". In response, Imagineering set out plans that would marginally increase the size of its show buildings.
Here in Team Cocoa, we wanted to test that concept of dreaming bigger. How big could we get? How far could we go? In these Frontiers of Fantasy, we're about to push your limits of imagination into an entire new dimension of the impossible.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
A Beyond Big Thunder Project
The Frontiers of Fantasy is a rethinking of the original Beyond Big Thunder concept- we present a unifying message that ties together the expansions that you will discover soon.
Combining the "discovery" concept for Frontierland and the "fantasy" of Fantasyland, the Frontiers of Fantasy trilogy explains what really happens when you push the limits of imagination itself. What happens when you explore the unknown? Reach the dark side of your favorite stories? Explore the myths and legends that make up a lost genre of Frontier? You'll witness this in THREE different expansions:
Northuldra: World of Frozen is a northward expansion for FANTASYLAND. Here, you can head "Into the Unknown" through an expansion of the existing Enchanted Forest into the literal Enchanted Forest from the Frozen movies, interacting with the land's five elements in a variety of attractions and experiences.
Beyond Big Thunder expansion embraces the ideal Frontierland expansion plans, redevleoping the "cowboy" genre into an all-encompassing "Americana" feelng- with an expansion of new stories from New Orleans, National Parks, and Tall Tales of the far West!
The new land of our project is the Shadowlands, a plus-sized version of the original with a FANTASYLAND-level of themeing, entertainment, and attraction count! In this alternate Fantasyland, you can explore the depths of Disney's massive Villians library and explore the haunts that make them so dear to our hearts (and the heartless!).
