Q: What is Teach me Algebra?
A: Teach me Algebra is an online platform using Zoom, where high school students can reserve time to receive 1-on-1 expert instruction in Algebra, whether Pre Algebra, Algebra I, or Algebra II.
Q: What is the cost per session?
A: The cost is $25.00 per session to be paid via (preferred) PayPal "Friends & Family" or Venmo at the close of each session.
Q: Who is the teacher for Teach me Algebra?
A: Your teacher is Mrs. Kourtney Dolvin. Mrs. Dolvin started teaching high school mathematics over 20 years ago & seeks to provide students with the opportunity to acquire essential knowledge & skills within an environment that encourages Christian character & service. Q: Why does Mrs. Dolvin generally only offer sessions from particular curricula?
A: Mrs. Dolvin is generally offering sessions only from the particular curricula she has had nearly 25 years of experience using in the Christian high school math classroom.
Q: Will Mrs. Dolvin also take care of the assessments for the student?
A: The primary goal of this format is to help Algebra students understand the content, thus the sessions will be completely instructional with students having the opportunity to interact constantly with the teacher. Mrs. Dolvin will not be taking care of lesson plans, grading, or the assessment needs of the students.
Q: How do I sign up for a session?
A: To sign up for a session, click Calendly to fill out the best time for your schedule. You will receive the information for a Zoom link that is specific to that individual session. (Note: the Zoom link will then be added to your personal calendar, if you allow this.)
Q: What if I lose an internet connection during a Teach me Algebra session?
A: If a student loses an internet connection during a Teach me Algebra session, the student will still be responsible to pay for the session. If the internet fails during a session, Mrs. Dolvin will phone the cell phone number provided at registration and the session will continue without video.
Q: How & when do I pay for a session?
At the close of your session with Mrs. Dolvin, you will be prompted to pay for a session. Each session costs $25.00 & may be paid through one of the following 2 options:

Q: What if I have to cancel a session after I scheduled it?
A: If for some reason, you need to cancel your session, please email Mrs. Dolvin as soon as possible.
Q: What if I don't pay for my session?
A: Students who do not pay for a session following the close of the session will not be eligible for another session until the previous session has been paid for in full.
Q: May I sign up for more than one session per week?
A: You may sign up for unlimited sessions per week.
Q: Are group sessions available or are all sessions only for individuals?
A: Teach me Algebra sessions are designed for individuals to receive one-to-one instruction. However, if there is interest in a group session, the cost will remain at a $25 set fee for the half-hour & the person signing up will be responsible to forward the Zoom link & to pay the fee following the session.
Q: What do I need to have on my computer to be ready for a Teach me Algebra session?
A: Sessions will be hosted or joined using the Zoom desktop client (Windows, macOS, Linus), browser client (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari), & mobile apps (iOS, Android). You will also need a stable internet connection, a microphone, & a video camera.
Q: What else do I need to bring to a session?
A: At each session, you will need to have your textbook, paper, & a writing utensil (also have your TI Calculator, if applicable).
