Jennifer Peters - Moderator
Manager of Library Services Seneca Polytechnic
Jennifer is currently the Manager of Library Literacies at Seneca Libraries. She provides leadership in information and digital literacy programs to support the wide range of College programs; liaison and outreach services for faculty and students; open learning resources for integration into the curriculum; library tutorials; research support services; data tracking infrastructures, and faculty training in the areas of information literacy and digital literacy.
Dr. Linda Facchini, PhD
Professor, Faculty Development, in the Teaching & Learning Centre, Seneca Polytechnic
Following an early career in cancer research at Toronto's renowned Hospital for Sick Children, Dr. Linda Facchini joined Seneca College in 2000 where she has enjoyed nearly 20 years of teaching in the Biotechnology program. In 2017, she traded in her pipettes for pedagogy and joined Seneca’s Teaching & Learning Centre. In her role as Professor, Faculty development, Linda supports her colleagues in course design, delivery and assessment and remains dedicated to fostering excellence in teaching.
Linda has a passion for innovation in post-secondary education. She is the co-creator of an online multimedia simulation resource for technical skills training; she championed the Teaching & Learning Centre’s popular Microcredentials for Faculty PD program and currently oversees XR simulation development within the college. Linda has a keen interest in alternative and authentic assessment strategies, and is an advocate of the need to rethink assessment in light of post-secondary education’s changing climate. She was the project lead and one of the authors for "Rethinking Assessment Strategies for Online Learning", an interactive web-based course for post-secondary instructors.
Dr. Panos Panagiotakopoulos, PhD
Professor, School of Legal, Public & Office Administration, Seneca Polytechnic
Panos is one of Seneca’s GenAI Thought Leaders. He has also been working in sustainability for over 15 years, helping various organizations adopt sustainable practices. He has experience in different sectors, such as finance, agriculture, real estate, construction, and retail, where he has helped develop and implement sustainability strategies. He is the founder of Close the Loop, a consulting firm that focuses on climate change, life cycle assessment, and business modelling. He also co-founded Carbon One, an innovative Canadian climate tech company that helps businesses calculate the carbon footprint of their food and beverage products. Panos has a Ph.D. in Corporate Sustainability from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland and has published several academic papers on sustainable business design. In addition, Panos is a professor and coordinator of the Sustainable Business Management program at Seneca College and teaches sustainability and business design at OCAD University.
Kent Peel, BASc (Chem Eng), LLB
Professor, School of Human Resources & Global Business, Seneca Polytechnic
After practicing as employment law, Kent joined the School of Legal and Public Administration at Seneca College (as then it was) as a part-time professor, teaching a legal research course. He never left, asking for more courses until 2004, when he became a full-time faculty member. He has acted as lead professor, program co-ordinator and field placement co-ordinator, embracing all that EdTech offered along the way. He joined the Vice-President Academic’s area as one of Seneca Polytechnic’s two AI Thought Leaders in 2024.
Allyson Miller
Director, Academic Integrity Office, Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU)
Allyson Miller is the Director of the Academic Integrity Office at Toronto Metropolitan University. She has been a leader in the university’s efforts to address the effects of generative artificial intelligence on higher education. Prior to joining TMU, she was the manager of learning services at Brock University, where she led a team in providing student success learning support. At Brock, Allyson was also a member of the Academic Integrity Advisory Committee and was involved in the development of a central reporting system for cases of academic misconduct.
Dr. Cory Scurr, PhD
Academic Integrity Manager, Conestoga College
Cory Scurr is the Manager, Academic Integrity at Conestoga College. In his work, he leads a team of staff and supports faculty, student, and administrators through consultation, workshops, and resource development. Cory also developed and delivers a Microcredential on Academic integrity, called Academic Integrity in Post-Secondary Teaching, on which he's currently writing a book chapter. His current research project examines faculty barriers when navigating academic misconduct and the role of emotions. He has given numerous invited and keynotes talks that address the nexus of Academic Integrity and Artificial Intelligence. Finally, Cory is the Chair of the AICO (Academic Integrity Council of Ontario).
Karen Li
Karen Li is a graduating Social Service Worker student, Seneca Quality Assurance Student Council Representative, and a Peer Tutor at Seneca's Learning Centre. She had her placement last year at the Toronto District School Board supporting students with special education needs. Before coming to Canada, Karen worked in universities in Hong Kong coordinating academic programs, quality assurance and student services.
