Students wrote a CDW (Claim, Data, Warrant) paragraph for a test at the beginning of March. Before their next test in April, I made lessons that revolved around practice writing for CDWs. These lessons included accommodations such as step-by-step worksheets, sentence stems, and frequent check-ins. I applied these techniques to every student. The numbers listed in the "Post" column reflect each student's growth in CDW writing by the time they took the second test in April. Students were graded on a 15 point scale; a total of 15 points is the highest score a student can receive.
