I am offering this series for free because I do not want to profit off of the inequalities in our country that led to this series being created. I taught this to students from a Catholic high school and included some slides regarding LGBTQ+ and Catholicism. There are only 3 slides that discuss this. If you teach students of all faiths, you should delete these slides. Don't worry, the 3 slides are not anti-LGBTQ+.

Description: This is a virtual gallery walk. Ideally, you would assign the "Worksheet" one to your students and link to the gallery walk on there. The best way to link to it is to go to Share > Copy Link > at the end of the URL, change “edit” to “present” Doing it this way will show it in "presentation view" which helps make it feel more "interactive" and less like a Google Slide.

Description: This is a Google Slides activity. It can be 100% student-led or can be teacher-led. The beginning slides describe the King George III statue in New York City and what happened to it at the beginning of the war. Then it moves into an anthropologist's take on the events. It ends by having students read a ProCon article on the Confederate statue debate and then answering questions regarding it. This activity is designed to be 100% virtual.

I’m obsessed with the game show “Floor is Lava” on Netflix so I took a template I found on Edrenaline Rush and created a game board for the first day of school.
