Teacher Alliance for Flourishing

Many educators often feel overwhelmed, while others have found effective ways of balancing their professional, school, and personal lives (and have strategies to share!). In either case, we want to invite you to join the Teacher Alliance for Flourishing (TAFF). We seek to provide a space for current and prospective teachers so that they may find a supportive community that encourages flourishing, both personally and professionally.

During these monthly (virtual) gatherings, current and prospective teachers and graduate students have the opportunity to share their experiences related to flourishing. Moreover, members of the community will share resources and collaborate to support one another in physical, social/ emotional, and spiritual development. We will also focus on the practical applications and tools for flourishing within and outside educational contexts. At the end of the year, we gather for an end of the year retreat for connection and reflection.

This work is founded upon the flourishing domains outlined by VanderWeele (2017). These domains include: 1) Physical and Mental Health; 2) Character and Virtue; 3) Meaning and Purpose; 4) Close Social Relations; 5) Happiness and Life Satisfaction, and 6) Financial and Material Stability.
