September 2025 – May 2026 General Information First Semester - All classes
Students will learn about the elements of art and then be instructed step by step through the process of creating a piece of art. We will explore the various mediums in art to create the projects and practicing Craftmanship (doing the best work they can for their age). Students will have increased skills in drawing, knowledge of the different elements of art and confidence in creating art. Each week the project will cover various elements of art and the principles of design; including Line, Color, Contrast, Pattern, Texture, Shape, Form, Space, Movement, Balance and Value. The goal of this course is to expose the students to various ways to create art and encourage the students to look at art in a fun and positive manner.
Students will not only learn the elements of art and principles of design, but they will be able to define each one. Students will be exposed to and learn art vocabulary to add to their growing knowledge.
2nd Semester
K-4 classes will continue to practice Craftmanship for mastery.
5 - 8 class -
After review and practice of the elements of art and craftsmanship (quality work based on their abilities) students will be given a chance to create two major art projects that will use the information learned in the first semester. The first project will be to illustrate their favorite Bible Verse or Christian Song Lyric and the 2nd project will be to create their own “Bob Ross” inspired landscape or seascape. Each project will follow the same steps which include:
Sketch out several ideas to choose from.
Pick their favorite and create a formal drawing including color.
Transfer the design to canvas
Paint their piece using acrylic paints or water colors.
Course Materials PLEASE NOTE: STUDENTS MAY GET MESSY - PLEASE DO NOT DRESS THEM IN FANCY CLOTHES.

Music Overview

Music is by far one of God’s great wonders. It’s so unnecessary and beautiful that it has to be a gift - direct from heaven. We don’t need music to get through life. It has no practical purpose in our day to day. It’s not food, it’s not energy, it’s not shelter, it’s not protection. It’s just extra! Something great created simply for our enjoyment.
And we all love music, directly or indirectly. Our movies would be boring without it. Our drives in the car would be more dull. Plays, video games, a night out at a restaurant or a festival all come alive because of 12 notes arranged in infinite combinations, timbres and tempos.
This year we will have a lot of new faces in the classroom and a good number of kids returning, so the new mix of old and new will definitely make for a unique and exciting time.
K-2 Class: Our youngest musicians will dive into the basics—lots of singing, playful rhythms, and hands-on exploration of different instruments. We’ll introduce them to the sounds of piano, guitar, bass, drums, and even the magic behind sound equipment. The focus is on having fun and building a love for music that will last a lifetime!
Grades 2-4 & 5-8: Older students will experience the thrill of playing together as a band all year long. Last year, we learned five songs using just four chords, and every child mastered those chords on their chosen instrument. The teamwork and joy were unforgettable! This year, we’ll keep the momentum going, working on:
Basic chord shapes
Time signatures and counting with metronomes
Singing and harmonizing
Exploring scales and creating new chords
Encourage your child to pick up an instrument or join in singing!
If your child needs an instrument, let us know—we’ll do our best to provide one.

Physical Education Overview
Instructors - Jesse Davis Co-teacher Brayden Harper
Our hope is that class will be a time where kids can move, have fun and even get a little fit, while also learning how to work as a team and encourage each other. We want every student to feel included and know that they’re an important part of what we do in PE.
Each week we’ll start with a short prayer, then move into some warmups and stretching to get ready for the class. After that, it’s game time! The focus will always be on teamwork, good sportsmanship and doing our best—whether we win, lose, or just learn something new.
This year we’ll be mixing in some new games along with favorites from the past, so there’s always something to look forward to. Our goal is for every student to leave class not just tired from running around, but encouraged, confident, and glad they came.
We’re thankful for the chance to lead PE this year, and we can’t wait to get started. It’s going to be a great year at T.E.A.C.H.!
