Overview

Welcome! We are excited to have you join the first Teach Access Study Away: Silicon Valley program!

You will be joining a group of 28 students and faculty members from California State University Northridge, Michigan State University, Olin College, and the University of Colorado in visiting Silicon Valley companies as part of the Teach Access Study Away program.

Pre-Program Survey

Please take a few minutes to take this pre-program survey before Monday!

Packing List

  • Official form of identification
  • Laptop and charger
  • Mobile phone, charger, and earbuds
  • Notebook and pens (if taking notes on paper)
  • Clothing including a sweatshirt or light jacket, jeans or long pants (It chills down at night in Silicon Valley. This is not Southern California.)
  • Any prescription medications needed for the week
  • Digital copy of your resume or CV

Housing Locations

Transportation

  • Transportation to and from locations will be coordinated by each university through rental cars.

Photo/Video Waiver

During the week, pictures and video will be recorded by Teach Access members as well as our colleagues at the Partnership on Employment and Accessible Technology (PEAT) to be used for promotional purposes. Please review the waiver and complete the form.

Company Visit Dos and Don’ts

  • Companies will have a sign-in process when the group arrives.
  • Visitors will need to sign the company NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement).
  • Please stay in the areas specified for the group visit.
  • Taking pictures of common areas is generally allowed. (No pictures of information on desks or confidential information.)

Dress Code

  • Casual but appropriate. No need to wear business attire at these tech companies. :)
