About Me

Welcome to my little slice of the internet! I appreciate you taking the time to get to know me. My name is Tim, an education professional currently based in Campbell River, British Columbia. I'm invested in the idea of equitable, accessible education; I think everyone is capable of learning, and one of my favourite challenges as an educator is to find innovating ways to help people learn effectively.

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor's in Secondary Education. My major is in Social Studies and my minor, English. I took a lot of really interesting courses on the road to finishing university, from topics like history (my personal favourite), sociology, a little bit of economics and political science, even some Anglo-Saxon literature. The result is that I learned a little bit about a very broad range of disciplines, and I loved that variety! That's something that keeps me highly motivated in the world of eLearning and instructional design: I have a ton of opportunities to constantly learn new things.

On a more personal note, while I was born and currently live in Canada, I've also spent a couple years abroad in the United Kingdom. I love the outdoors and enjoy camping, hiking, and backpacking in the Rockies (that's a photo I took of Mount Robson up there). I also enjoy strength sports like powerlifting, strongman and Olympic weightlifting and have spent a lot of time and effort in the pursuit of getting stronger and improving my physical health.
