Overview
OverMate is a cricket scoring application, the cricket umpire's pocket scorer. It lets you set up and score a match live, ball-by-ball, across two innings, and saves completed matches so you can revisit them later. OverMate is designed with privacy in mind. Your data stays on your device, and we collect as little information as possible.
Information You Create in the App
OverMate lets you create and store content such as:
- Team names and match setup (overs/match length, toss winner, and toss decision)
- Live scoring data — runs, extras, wickets, overs, run rate, and the current-over tracker
- Innings totals, chase targets, and the match result
- Saved match history of completed matches
This content is created and controlled by you and is stored locally on your device. You are solely responsible for the content you create and store within the app. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal content with third parties.
Information We Do Not Collect
OverMate does not require you to create an account to use its features.
We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or your scoring data on our own servers for the core functionality of the app.
Device Features We Use
Haptic feedback: If enabled in Settings, the app produces a short vibration on certain button presses while you score. This uses your device's built-in haptics and does not collect any data. You can turn it off at any time.
Subscriptions and Purchases
If OverMate offers optional premium features or subscriptions, all payments and purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple ID account, not directly by the developer.
We do not receive or store your full payment details, such as credit card numbers. Apple may share limited information, such as subscription status, to enable premium features. Apple's handling of your purchase and payment information is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and terms.
Third-Party Services
OverMate relies on platform providers such as Apple for app distribution and system services.
These providers may collect information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any platform provider you use to access the app.
The developer is not responsible for the data handling practices of third-party services or platform providers.
Analytics and Diagnostics
Apple may provide the developer with aggregated, anonymized information about app usage, crashes, and performance through the App Store, if you have enabled sharing of such data in your device settings.
This information is used solely to improve the stability and quality of the app and is not used to personally identify you.
Children's Privacy
OverMate is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law without appropriate consent.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information handled by the app. Because your data is stored locally on your device, maintaining the security of your device, passcode, and backups is an important part of keeping your information safe.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Control
You can view, edit, and delete the matches and scoring data you create directly within the app, including deleting a single match, deleting selected matches, or clearing all match history.
You can enable or disable haptic feedback in Settings.
You can manage or cancel any subscriptions through your App Store account settings.
Deleting the app removes locally stored app data from your device, subject to any backups managed by your device or platform provider.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. The "Last Modified" date above indicates when this policy was most recently updated.
