Mentoring for Success
Mentoring for Success (MFS) is an SFUSD program that supports mentorships between a student and a school staff, faculty, or community member.
Mentoring for Success (MFS) is an SFUSD program that supports mentorships between a student and a school staff, faculty, or community member.
Mentoring is a structured, consistent and purposeful relationship between a young person (mentee) and a caring adult (mentor). From working on art projects to playing games together, quality time in a mentorship supports a young person's journey.
Mentoring nurtures a young person's well-being and agency. Mentors are not counselors or parents but a caring adult who encourages their mentees to listen to their curiosity, explore their interests, and pursue their passions.
MFS mentees often see an increased sense of belonging in their school community, more positive interactions at school, and an expanded ability to envision a successful future.
