Nope! We do not require any robotics experience, however, you should have a strong willingness to learn and apply that knowledge towards building the robot. Although some prereqs may ask to design mechanisms, we are not asking for the technical aspects, but for more of a general idea of HOW the mechanism will move and your general thought process on solving a given problem. If you have any troubles with your prereq, do not hesitate to contact us! During off-season, leadership will be training members as well.
We mainly hold meetings after school. We are not a club that is held at Lunch time, although we may have brief meetings during RAMS/Lunch occasionally. Frequency and specific days of meetings depend on what season we're in and what subgroup you're in. On average, we will have 3 meetings a week from 3-5 PM. Meeting location may vary as well. For a more detailed breakdown of commitments, please see slides #7 and #8 on the info slides.
Once competition season starts in November, we usually have competition days every month, typically held on a Saturday or Sunday. League Meets are typically from 8 AM - 12 PM, but larger competitions like Inter-League Tournament and Regional Competition are all-day events. Members are expected to attend these competitions.
