Desk and Keys Allocation

Keys to your office:

Dr. Roger West assigns desks based on availability.

Your Supervisor should discuss a suitable location with Dr. West.

Once a desk has been allocated, Dr. West will send an email notification to the Chief Technical Officer who will issue keys. A refundable deposit of €20 is required - this is to encourage keyholders to return their keys upon completion of their studies.

Lab Access Restrictions: No work outside the hours of 8 am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Lab access is strictly controlled for Health and Safety reasons.

Any Postgraduate student who can demonstrate their requirement for a key will be granted one subject to their Supervisors approval.

It is imperative that Keyholders do not conduct laboratory experiments outside the hours of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. The primary reason for this is that outside these hours no assistance may be available should an accident occur. In the exceptional circumstance that work must be conducted outside these hours authorisation must be obtained from both the Principal Investigator (researcher/member of academic staff) and the Chief Technical Officer.
