CAN YOU HELP WITH THE CARE OF YOUR COMMUNITY CENTER?
July 2025
Dear Friends and Neighbors, Thanks to you we surpassed our 2024 annual winter appeal goal of $6000.00 for the care of the Thetford Center Community Building, located across from the Thetford Town Offices on Rte 113 in Thetford Center, VT.
Thanks to the incredible support from the community, our new kitchen floor has been installed. We also now have a new energy star refrigerator and a new energy efficient AC window unit!
And thanks to a very generous donor, we also now have a complete set of brand new folding chairs!
The Community Building is used by Thetford residents and by people from all over the Upper Valley and beyond.
We thank you all for the incredible community support that enables us to keep the building in good repair and available to the community.

The building is managed by the Thetford Center Community Association Board of Directors - a small group of volunteers. TCCA does not receive town funding or any other funding.
Currently the building is used at no charge for memorial services, senior exercise and Tai Chi classes, and the senior coffee klatch and community gatherings and potlucks.
It also can be rented for public and private meetings, art classes, weddings, showers, birthday parties, political meetings, fundraising events, graduation parties, and much more.
Most, but not all operating expenses are met by a combination of rental income, donations and volunteer labor. Additionally we need community support to fund improvements and repairs and to pay for unexpected and increased expenses.
Here is our current list of projects:
~Basement dehumidifier may be needed soon.
~Possible electrical upgrades
~Wood floor completely refinish
~Increased utility expenses and insurance
~Rainy Day Fund for unexpected needs
Over the last two years we have made the following improvements:
Entire exterior was painted, with help from the Byrne Foundation.
The old gas range was replaced with 2 new pilotless ranges.
Electrical upgrades including a hot water safety switch and surge protector.
New LED lights in the kitchen.
We have installed window shades.
We have made needed repairs- including a leak in the roof.
Installed sound remediation in the ceiling, greatly improving the sound in the building.
Unexpectedly installed a new furnace and costly furnace repairs.
Kitchen has been repainted and is now clean and cheery!
The kitchen floor has been replaced!
The old chairs have been replaced!
The old dying refrigerator has been replaced!
We have installed an efficient AC window unit!
We thank you for any amount you can give to help us take care of this lovely old and beloved building which is well used and appreciated by the community!
Sincerely,
Board of Directors:
Nicky Corrao, Joanne Sandberg-Cook, Andrew Cook, Ben Bradley
