"Taylor experienced a modified practicum due to a late start. Despite this challenge, she was able to foster meaningful relationships with students in both classes and prepared creative, engaging lessons. Taylor's most notable strengths are her interpersonal skills and her ability to connect in a positive manner with some of the most challenging students in the building."

"She demonstrated exceptional name recall and made an effort everyday to engage in conversation with students on topics not related to the curriculum fostering a safe and comfortable classroom environment. As this is Taylor's first placement, she is encouraged to continue developing her classroom management skills. As we discussed, classroom management is an ongoing developmental process, a "tool kit". Through in class experience and colleague collaboration she will add tools to this kit throughout her career. It was a pleasure to work with Taylor."

informed lens and often used personal life experiences to build relationships."

"Taylor worked hard to prepare lessons on material that she herself was not overly familiar with. She implemented backwards

design to achieve her essential learnings. As discussed with Taylor she is encouraged to experiment with different teaching

methods and lesson organization until she finds one that is a good fit for her."

"Taylor's lessons included a variety of instructional strategies from inquiry based learning to anchor charts. She also effectively

used technology to inform and engage her students. As discussed with Taylor she is encouraged to organize her lessons in a

way that provides more clarity to her students when preparing for activities."

"Taylor effectively used assessment as learning during diagnostic activities as well as assessment of and for learning when

providing timely feedback. She used a variety of assessment to triangulate a student's learning."

Final Remarks

"Taylor was a pleasure to have as a student teacher. She is a thoughtful person that brings a great deal commitment and compassion to the classroom. Despite the challenges COVID has brought to the classroom, Taylor was able to navigate them well with flexibility of both practice and mind. I am certain that Taylor will contribute greatly to the educational community that she one day will be a member of."
