Rolls and Responsibilities: Observe production flow and manufacturing process & optimize production Flow
Outcome: Designed semi automatic tagger gun for garments division
Skills Aquired: SMV Calculation, Copperman Software, Textile Production and Safety Calculation
During my one-month industrial attachment, I had the invaluable opportunity to immerse myself in a real-world manufacturing environment , including production planning, quality control, machine design, and ETP (Effluent Treatment Process). I worked closely with production teams to understand the end-to-end manufacturing process, from raw material handling to product dispatch. In quality control, I assisted with statistical inspections to maintain product standards, and in ETP, I observed waste management protocols. I contributed by designing the semiautomation of tagging process of finished fabric with help of my cohorts . This experience provided a well-rounded understanding of industrial operations, reinforcing my academic knowledge with practical skills
Duration: 1 day
Rolls and Responsibilities: Learning about industry standards for quality control, safety, efficiency and lean manufacturing principles in the RMG sector
Outcome: Gained insight into the sequence of operations in garment manufacturing
Skills Aquired: observe complex processes, analyze workflows, and identify key steps in production and quality control
My one-day industrial visit was a concise yet insightful experience, giving me a snapshot of the production process within a large-scale manufacturing facility. The visit allowed us to see a range of equipment in action, from automated machinery handling raw materials to precision tools used for final assembly and finishing. One of the highlights was observing the quality control section, where I learned how products are tested for defects and compliance with regulatory standards. The hands-on demonstration helped clarify concepts like Six Sigma and lean manufacturing, which I had previously encountered only in textbooks. This short but intense exposure provided a practical view of industrial operations and was instrumental in reinforcing my academic knowledge with real-world applications.
