A site-based performance written, directed, & designed by
Hossein Tavazoni
Narges was first performed in May 2017 in an abandoned mansion in Tehran. The audience was limited to four people, who followed the performance by moving through different spaces of the building. The play was later presented at the 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival at a different venue on Enghelab Street in Tehran. As with the group’s previous projects, the performance was redesigned in response to the architecture and particular characteristics of the new location.
The play portrays the life of Narges, beginning with her forced marriage while still underage in a small village. Years later, the story continues in Tehran, where she encounters her long-lost friend, Ali, who embarks on a spiritual journey to reunite with his childhood sweetheart: Narges.
