🖤 Tattooed Talent – New Talent Onboarding Guide
Where Ink Meets Opportunity
Tattooed Talent exists to showcase the power, presence, and individuality of tattooed performers in film and television. This guide prepares you for success on set, helps you earn the highest wages available, and ensures you represent the brand with professionalism and pride.
1. Welcome to Tattooed Talent
You’re joining Vancouver’s first agency dedicated to tattooed extras and featured background performers. Productions come to us because we deliver talent who are:
Reliable
Professional
Camera‑ready
Easy to direct
Visually distinctive
Your tattoos are an asset—but your attitude, consistency, and work ethic are what get you rebooked.
2. What You Need Before Your First Booking
To work as an extra, you must have:
✔️ Government-issued ID
For payroll and security clearance.
✔️ Reliable transportation
Many sets are outside the city or require early/late travel.
✔️ A phone that stays ON
Casting moves fast. If you respond quickly, you get booked.
✔️ Clear tattoo photos
You need:
Full-body front
Full-body back
Close-ups of major tattoos
Any specialty pieces (face, neck, hands)
✔️ A basic wardrobe kit
Productions often ask you to bring your own clothing. You should have:
Casual streetwear
Business attire
Fitness clothing
All-black outfit
Seasonal options (coat, hoodie, rain gear)
Neutral shoes (black, white, brown)
The more wardrobe you have, the more roles you qualify for.
3. Set Etiquette & Professionalism
Your reputation is everything. Here’s how to stand out in the best way:
🔹 Arrive early
15 minutes early is on time.
🔹 Follow direction immediately
ADs love extras who don’t need things repeated.
🔹 Stay positive
Long days are normal. Good energy gets you upgraded.
🔹 No photos on set
Confidentiality is non-negotiable.
🔹 Respect wardrobe, makeup, and crew
They can request you again—or never again.
4. How to Earn the Highest Wages
These are the habits of top-earning extras:
💰 1. Be available for long days
Overtime = money.
💰 2. Say yes to featured background
Featured roles pay more and get you noticed.
💰 3. Bring specialty wardrobe
Business suits, uniforms, and unique looks often come with pay bumps.
💰 4. Document your tattoos
Tattooed roles are harder to cast—meaning higher pay.
💰 5. Respond fast to casting calls
Speed = bookings.
💰 6. Be open to night shoots and weather
These often include environmental pay bumps.
💰 7. Have special skills
Driving, dancing, bartending, motorcycle riding, sports—these can all pay more.
💰 8. Build a reputation
The highest-paid extras are the ones casting trusts.
5. Your 21-Question Talent Interview
Every new talent completes a 21‑question interview to help us understand:
Your experience
Your availability
Your comfort level on set
Your tattoo story
Your personality
Your goals
This interview helps us match you with the right productions and showcase your individuality.
