What made you decide to run?

I have loved being a part of the Westerville community in a business capacity but knew that I wanted to do more. Our schools are the most vital part of our community, and as a mom and a business owner, I have a very vested interest in our schools! Beyond my own kids, I am passionate about public education and ensuring every child has an opportunity for education. I see the immense challenges that our public schools are facing right now and I want to do my part to support our school district.

What is your educational background?

I have a Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in Textiles and Clothing and a master's in marketing and communications from Franklin University; in addition to 20+ years in retail in both stores and the corporate sector, and 18 years' experience running my own business.

Where did you grow up?

I am originally from the east side of Cleveland. My parents immigrated there from Serbia in the late 1970's. My brother and I are both first generation citizens and attended public schools in the South Euclid/Lyndhurst school system.

What does public education mean to you?

Public education means a chance for anyone to have an education - regardless of their address, their skin color, their economic status. It means an equal playing field and opportunity and dignity for every child.
