Conglomerates imaged by the Curiosity rover provided the first in situ evidence for past flowing water on the surface of Mars. I use clast properties such as roundness and grain size to understand the nature of their transport and deposition. LPSC abstract
Alluvial fans demonstrate evidence for past surface water on Mars (and Earth!). I visit alluvial fans in CA and NV to investigate how surface deposits of different ages appear to rover-type instruments, analyzing surface coatings, roundness, and roughness.
I am a Payload Uplink Lead (PUL) for MAHLI instrument on the Curiosity rover, participating in rover operations to identify targets of geological interest. (Image: Post-DRT of Guaramoni, sol 3716)
