ホヤ（被嚢動物）とナメクジウオ（頭索動物）を用いて、神経堤細胞や神経中胚葉前駆細胞のような新奇な細胞型の進化的獲得を対象とした進化発生生物学（Evo-Devo）研究を行っています。

Currently, I'm conducting the evo-devo studies on ascidians (Tunicata) and amphioxus (Cephalochordata), especially focusing on the evolutionary acquisition of novel cell types (such as neural crest cells and neuromesodermal progenitors).
