TASME Term 3 Newsletter, 2022

TASME is hosting a student composition workshop with wonderful Tasmanian composer, Dr. Maria Grenfell, on Friday 2 September from 2 to 5pm at Elizabeth College, Hobart.

The workshop will be for Year 9 to 12 students with an interest in composition and will be a particularly useful for senior students preparing composition folios for end of the year assessments.

Maria will share some ‘tips and tricks’ as a professional composer and will be working with students on pieces they are currently writing. Students wishing to attend the workshop should register using this online form: https://bit.ly/TASME-Composition-Workshop.

Participating students will also have the opportunity to attend the performance of Maria’s composition, Tarraleah, that evening. The work will be performed by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. TASME is grateful to the TSO for its support.
