Tasmanian Devils are not only a foundation species, but they also can play important roles in their ecosystem as well. Devils create mutualism by eating decomposed animals such as roadkill. They get their meal while also keeping the environment clean from diseases.
The White Iris Flag (Diplorrena moaea) is found in Australia. It is one of many clade in the Iris family. This species is common and not under any threat.

The Potoroo is a mammal that lives in the wet forests and scrublands in Tasmania. It can even carry things on its tail. This species is also vulnerable and could one day become threatened or endangered.

Parasites also play a role in the lives of Tasmanian Devils. There are 28 parasites that have been found within this species. One type, a Giardia strain, has even been found that came from humans. So, not only are the devils already endangered, but they also have a mortality rate due to parasites and diseases.
The Tasmanian Wedge-tailed Eagle is a predator to the Tasmanian Devil. Although, there are very few predators to this apex consumer.
