Life Cycle
After a devil becomes pregnant, after just 21 days she gives birth to up to 40 joeys. Once born the joeys then fight for one of the four teats that the mother has. From that point on the joeys will spend roughly four months in the mother's pouch where they will continue to get their essential nutrients. Once the joeys begin to leave the pouch to explore the world the mother will leave them in a den and come back regularly to feed them and teach them how to live on their own. Then one day the mother will just stop coming back to the joeys. This happens roughly around six months of age. The Tasmanian devils from six months old continue to grow and learn on their own. Once they hit two years of age, they are considered matured and will then begin mating. Then the life cycle continues all over again.
