Mellieħa is a town in the north of the Island of Malta. The prominent church, shops and banks are at the top of the hill with views toward Comino and Gozo. At the bottom of the hill is a large, sandy, and safe beach, lined with bars, kiosks and restaurants for holidaymakers. Tas-Sellum sits between the two a short distance up the hill.
The ferries to Gozo and Comino are relatively close by, as are many of the sandy beaches on the island, such as Għajn Tuffieħa, Golden Sands and Paradise Bay. The popular attraction of Popeye Village is also close by, as is the nature reserve of Majjistral.
A car is always useful in Malta, but buses run frequently through Mellieha between Cirkewwa (Gozo ferry) and Valletta, Sliema, St Julians, the airport and Golden Bay amongst others.

There are a number small supermarkets, fruit and veg shops, bakeries and butchers throughout Mellieħa which can provide bread and essentials within a short walk. The large Valyou supermarket near the main bus terminal also provides a wider selection comparable with many large stores.
