Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information about how we collect, use, and protect your information.
The app processes face-related information only on the user’s device to provide photo editing features. It does not collect, upload, sell, share, or store face data on our servers.
1. What face data does the app collect?
The app uses on-device Apple frameworks to detect face/eye-related information from photos selected by the user or captured with the camera.
Specifically:
- Eye Color uses Apple Vision face landmarks to locate the user’s left and right eye positions so the app can place cosmetic eye lens overlays correctly.
- Hair Color uses Apple camera semantic segmentation/matte data for hair recoloring.
- Photo Tune lets users manually edit/retouch an image.
The app does not collect facial recognition identifiers, face templates, faceprints, biometric identifiers, identity-matching data, or data used to identify a person.
2. Planned use, sharing, retention, deletion, and storage practices
Face data is used only to provide the requested editing feature inside the app:
- Eye landmark data is used to position eye color/lens overlays.
- Hair segmentation matte data is used to apply hair color effects.
- Edited photos are displayed to the user for preview and may be saved only if the user taps Save.
All processing is performed locally on the device. Face data, landmarks, masks, and photo analysis results are temporary and are kept only in memory during the editing session. They are discarded when the user leaves the editing screen or closes the app.
The app does not store face data in a database, does not upload it to a server, and does not use it for tracking, advertising, analytics, profiling, or identification.
If the user chooses to save an edited image, the final edited image is saved to the user’s Photos library. The user controls deletion of saved images through the Photos app.
3. Will face data be shared with third parties? Where is it stored?
No. Face data is not shared with any third parties.
The app includes Google AdMob for advertising, but face data, photos, face landmarks, and segmentation masks are not sent to AdMob or any other third party.
Face data is stored only temporarily in device memory while editing. Final edited photos are stored in the user’s Photos library only when the user explicitly saves them.
4. How long is face data retained?
Face data is retained only temporarily during the active editing session. It is discarded when the editing screen is closed, the app is closed, or the in-memory editing state is released.
The app does not persist face data. Saved edited photos remain in the user’s Photos library until the user deletes them.
5. Where in the privacy policy is this explained?
This is explained in the privacy policy under the section titled “Face Data and Photo Processing.”
6. Specific privacy policy text concerning face data
“Face Data and Photo Processing: Eye Color may process photos selected by you or captured with your camera to provide photo editing features such as eye color effects, hair color effects, and photo retouching. The app uses on-device Apple technologies, including face landmark detection and image segmentation, to locate eyes or hair areas for editing. This information is processed locally on your device and is used only to provide the editing features you request.
We do not collect, upload, store, sell, share, or use face data, face landmarks, facial geometry, faceprints, biometric identifiers, or photo analysis data to identify you. Face-related processing results are temporary and remain in device memory only during the editing session. They are discarded when you leave the editing screen or close the app.
Edited photos are saved to your Photos library only when you choose to save them. You can delete saved photos at any time from the Photos app. Face data and photo analysis data are not shared with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third parties.”
