Privacy Policy for NourishLog

Effective date: October 26, 2026
Last updated: October 26, 2026

NourishLog: Calorie Tracker (“NourishLog,” “the app,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is provided by NourishLog, based in Bangladesh.

This Privacy Policy explains how NourishLog handles information when you use the app on iOS or Android. Some features may differ by platform or app version.

1. Information stored on your device

NourishLog lets you enter and store information such as:

This information is stored locally on your device. NourishLog does not currently require an account and does not send your meal diary, water log, profile, or reminders to a NourishLog-operated server.

Your operating system’s device-backup service may include app data in a backup depending on your iCloud, Google, or device settings. Those backups are controlled by Apple, Google, or your device provider and are governed by their respective privacy policies.

2. Meal and profile photos

Meal photos

When you take or select a meal photo, NourishLog processes the image on your device to suggest possible foods.

Meal photos are used only during meal review. NourishLog does not save them in your food diary or send them to a NourishLog-operated server. They are discarded after the meal-review process ends.

Food recognition results are suggestions. You should review the identified foods, add missing items, and confirm each portion before saving a meal.

Profile photos

If you select a profile photo, the selected image is stored with your NourishLog profile on your device. You can replace or remove it from your profile.

NourishLog uses the system photo picker where available. The app receives only the photo you select and does not request unrestricted access to your entire photo library.

3. Camera access

NourishLog requests camera permission only when you choose to photograph a meal.

The camera image is analyzed on your device to suggest foods and is discarded after you finish reviewing it. If you do not allow camera access, you can still select a photo or add foods manually.

4. Notifications and reminders

NourishLog requests notification permission only when you save or enable a reminder.

Notifications may contain the reminder name and a short message related to a meal, water, medicine, or another routine you created. Reminder notifications are scheduled through your device’s notification system.

You can turn notifications off or change permission at any time in your device settings. Medicine reminders are organizational tools and do not replace instructions from a doctor, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional.

5. Health platform integrations

Health integrations are optional and are activated only when you choose to connect them.

Apple Health

On supported Apple devices, NourishLog may request permission to add nutrition information from meals you confirm to Apple Health, including:

NourishLog does not request permission to read your Apple Health information.

You control which nutrition types NourishLog may write. You can change access in the Apple Health app at any time. Information already written to Apple Health is managed through Apple Health and may remain there until you remove it.

NourishLog does not provide HealthKit information to advertising services or use it for advertising, marketing, or user profiling.

Android health services

The current Android version does not access Health Connect or another Android health platform unless the feature is clearly presented and you grant the requested permissions.

If Health Connect support is added, this Privacy Policy will be updated to identify the exact data types NourishLog reads or writes before that feature is released.

6. Nutrition estimates

NourishLog calculates nutrition estimates using general food-reference values and portions confirmed by the user.

Recipes, brands, ingredients, oils, preparation methods, and portion measurements can affect actual nutrition. NourishLog is designed for personal wellness tracking and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

7. Advertising and information processed by Google

NourishLog uses Google Mobile Ads, including Google AdMob, to display and measure advertisements.

Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and advertising settings, Google and its advertising partners may automatically process or receive information such as:

Google may use this information for:

Information transmitted by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit.

NourishLog does not send your meal diary, food photos, water log, profile details, profile photo, reminders, or Apple Health information to Google for advertising personalization.

Google’s handling of information is governed by its own policies:

Google and participating advertising partners may process information in countries outside the country where you live.

8. Advertising consent and tracking choices

Where required, NourishLog uses Google’s consent-management tools to present advertising privacy choices.

On iOS, NourishLog may also ask whether you allow tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. Declining tracking does not prevent you from using NourishLog. You may still see advertisements, but they may be less personalized.

On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID or change advertising privacy choices through your device settings where supported.

Users in applicable regions may be given options for personalized or non-personalized advertising. When available, advertising consent choices can be reviewed from NourishLog’s advertising privacy settings.

9. How information may be shared

NourishLog may share or make information available in the following limited circumstances:

Advertising providers

Google and participating advertising partners may process device, advertising, interaction, general-location, and diagnostic information as described in this policy.

Platform services

When you enable a platform feature, information may be provided to services such as Apple Health, device notifications, device backups, or an Android health integration at your direction.

Legal requirements

Information may be disclosed if reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a valid legal request, or to protect users, the public, our rights, or the security of the app.

We do not provide meal, water, profile, or health information to data brokers.

10. Data retention and deletion

Meal logs, water logs, profile information, reminders, and settings remain on your device until you remove the relevant information where the app provides that option, reset the app’s data, or uninstall the app.

Uninstalling NourishLog removes its local app container from the device. Copies may remain temporarily in device backups controlled by Apple, Google, or your device provider.

Information written to Apple Health is controlled separately through the Health app and may remain there after NourishLog is uninstalled.

Google and other advertising providers retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations. Advertising privacy choices can be changed through the app’s available privacy controls and your device settings.

Because NourishLog currently does not provide user accounts or operate a cloud database containing your diary, there is no NourishLog online account to delete.

11. Data security

We use platform security features and limit access to information according to the feature being used.

Local information is protected by the security controls of your device. Information transmitted by third-party services such as Google Mobile Ads is protected according to those providers’ security practices.

No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should protect your device with a passcode, biometric authentication, and current operating-system updates.

12. Children’s privacy

NourishLog is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by applicable law.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a NourishLog-operated account or server. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us using the email address below.

If NourishLog is later offered to children or enrolled in a children or families program, this policy and the app’s advertising configuration will be updated before that change.

13. Your privacy choices

Depending on your device and location, you may be able to:

These options are available through NourishLog, Apple Health, or your device’s privacy and application settings.

If applicable privacy law gives you additional rights, you may contact us to ask a question or submit a request. Some requests may need to be directed to Google, Apple, or another service provider when that provider controls the relevant information.

14. International processing

Advertising and platform providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.

Google describes its international data practices and safeguards in the Google Privacy Policy.

15. Third-party links and services

NourishLog may display advertisements or links provided by third parties. We do not control third-party applications, websites, advertisements, or privacy practices.

Review the privacy policy of a third-party service before providing information to it.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when NourishLog’s features, integrations, legal obligations, or data practices change.

The updated policy will be published at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated inside the app where appropriate.
