My partner and I, Richard, have created a slide show displaying what we have learned about our locations (Aruba and The Netherlands). We were to choose locations of our choice and research specific information about them including the population, demographics, languages spoken there, the climate, technology usage and the culture, and the location's digital divide. We then had to take that information and show a comparison of the two different places through a PowerPoint. One interesting thing I learned about Richard's place (the netherlands) was that it has a population of over 17 million people! When I had thought of the Netherlands, I assumed there was maybe 100,000 at most, so that was a shocker.
Overall, at first, I was not expecting to learn much, but I have actually learned quite a bit. I learned all about the Aruban and Netherland culture, seeing how their natives live their everyday lives. I have also been able to learn more about the features in power point like putting a fill color on our paragraphs, making an image as our background, and learning how to use the animations. One thing I learned about Aruba was that they have their own network. Coming from a person who does not know much how technology works, I just thought everybody went off of one network. Richard and I both did our own research when it came to our locations, but we collaborated on putting the slide show and representation together. We shared the PowerPoint to each other so we could both work on it at the same time, while communicating outside of the classroom about it. We collaborated on how we wanted the presentation to look and how we wanted to organize it.
