Apothecium, pl apothecia: A type of ascocarp (fungal fruiting body) that opens up once mature. Contains asci and is usually cup shaped.
Ascospore: A sexual haploid cell formed in an ascus usually the product of meiosis.
Ascus, pl asci: A specialized cell where ascospores are formed (usually eight) and a defining characteristic of ascomycetes.
Conidiophore: a hypha, simple or branched that is derived from somatic hypha to produce and hold conidia.
Conidium, pl conidia: An asexual nucleate spore that is immotile.
Defoliation: Detachment of leaves from the main stem.
Stroma pl stromata: A compact mass of somatic hyphae. Cushion like.
